Osteosarcoma cancers are becoming more common in children and young adults, existing treatments have low efficacy a very high mortality rate, making it pressing to search for new chemotherapies with selectivity index. Copper complexes shown promise the treatment of osteosarcoma. Here, we report synthesis, characterization, anticancer activity [Cu(N–N–Fur)(NO3)(H2O)] complex where N–N–Fur is (E)-N′-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)furan-2-carbohydrazide. The was characterized via X-ray...

Flavonoids, a polyphenolic compound family, and the vanadium compounds have interesting biological, pharmacological, medicinal properties. We report herein antitumor actions of complex [VO(chrysin)2EtOH]2 (VOchrys) on MG-63 human osteosarcoma cell line. Oxovanadium(IV), chrysin VOchrys caused concentration-dependent inhibition viability. The was strongest antiproliferative agent (p < 0.05). Cytotoxicity genotoxicity studies also showed concentration effect. Reactive oxygen species (ROS)...

We report here the synthesis, crystal structure, characterization and anticancer activity of a copper(ii)-hydrazone complex, [Cu(MeBHoVa)(H2O)2](NO3) (for short, CuHL), against human breast cancer cells on monolayer (2D) spheroids/mammospheres (3D). The solid-state molecular structure complex has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. conformational space was searched geometries were optimized both in gas phase including solvent effects computational methods based DFT. compound...

Vanadium is an ultratrace element present in higher plants, animals, algae, and bacteria. In recent years, vanadium complexes have been studied to be considered as a representative of new class nonplatinum metal anticancer drugs. Nevertheless, the study cell signaling pathways related compounds has scarcely reported on reviewed thus far; this information highly critical for identifying novel targets that play key role activity these compounds. Here, we perform review over cancer cells...

Abstract The purpose of this work was to screen the antitumor actions two metal organoruthenium-8-hydroxyquinolinato (Ru-hq) complexes find a potential novel agent for bone, lung and breast chemotherapies. We showed that ruthenium compounds (1 2) impaired cell viability human bone (MG-63), (A549) (MCF7) cancer cells with greater selectivity specificity than cisplatin. Besides, 1 2 decreased proliferation, migration invasion on monolayers at lower concentrations (2.5–10 μM). In addition, both...

Breast cancer is the most common in women, with a high incidence estimated to reach 2.3 million by 2030. Triple-Negative Cancer (TNBC) greatest invasive class of breast poor prognosis, due side-effects exerted chemotherapy used and low effectivity novel treatments. In this sense, copper compounds have shown be potentially effective as antitumor agents, attracting increasing interest alternatives usually employed platinum-derived drugs. Therefore, aim work identify differentially expressed...

Vanadium complexes were studied during recent years and considered as a representative of new class non-platinum metal antitumor agents in combination with their low toxicity. However, few challenges still remain the discovery molecular targets for these novel metal-based drugs. The study cell signaling pathways related to vanadium drugs, which is highly critical identifying specific that play an important role activity compounds, scarce. This research deals alterations intracellular...
