Abstract Purpose To evaluate the efficacy of optical coherence tomography (OCT) angiography versus fluorescein (FA) in terms retinal vessel imaging ischaemic diabetic maculopathy defined according to Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study (ETDRS) classification. Methods Twenty patients (31 eyes) with and 17 control subjects (27 were enrolled this prospective study. Patients underwent complete ophthalmic examination, including best‐corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure, FA,...

Vascular pathology is increasingly acknowledged as a risk factor for multiple sclerosis (MS). density (VD) reduced in the eyes of patients with MS on optical coherence tomography (OCT) angiography. We performed 1-year prospective study to estimate VD variations over time and possible clinical correlates.A total 50 underwent spectral domain-OCT OCT angiography at baseline after follow-up. Mixed-effect linear regression models were used assess each measure its relation treatment outcomes.We...

Two unrelated families with familial exudative vitreoretinopathy (FEVR) show apparent autosomal recessive inheritance rather than the previously reported dominant or X-linked mode of inheritance. Compared other modes inheritance, inherited clinical features here include earlier onset (at birth) and a more severe progressive course.

To measure macular choroidal thickness in healthy and glaucomatous eyes using spectral-domain scanning laser ophthalmoscopy/optical coherence tomography.Choroidal was measured 21 16 eyes. Choroidal under the fovea at 500-µm intervals from foveal center to 4 mm nasal temporal directions. Vessels were counted a area of 8,000 µm(2). Only vessels with horizontal diameter least 155 µm vertical 50 considered. The mean greatest below fovea, i.e. 343.8 (SD ± 29.06) controls 411.56 33.60; p < 0.001)...

Purpose: To investigate light sensitivity in eyes presenting with subretinal drusenoid deposits (SDD). Methods: All consecutive patients SDD only seen between January 2012 and July were included. A control group of age- sex-matched subjects at least one eye early age-related macular degeneration was considered. In all cases best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), color fundus photography, autofluorescence imaging...

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the orally administered combination flavonoids desmin and troxerutin with Centella asiatica Melilotus for treatment diabetic cystoid macular edema (CME) without thickening. In prospective, interventional, controlled study, 40 consecutive patients type 2 diabetes CME thickening at optical coherence tomography were randomized into groups 20 subjects each (treatment control groups). group received an oral (300 mg/day) C. (30 mg/die) (160 14 months. Best...

Purpose: We report the case of a young man with choroidal neovascularization (CNV) associated vitelliform macular dystrophy (Best's disease), who underwent treatment intravitreal bevacizumab. Case: A 17-year-old white male presented for routine ocular examination after reduction visual acuity and was diagnosed CNV in both eyes secondary to Best's disease. The diagnosis confirmed by an ophthalmologic that included fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green Fourier optical coherence...

To evaluate long-term follow-up of the orally administered combination flavonoids with Centella asiatica and Melilotus for treatment diabetic cystoid macular edema (CME) without thickening.Seventy consecutive patients type 2 diabetes CME thickening at optical coherence tomography (OCT) were prospectively randomly enrolled in two groups 35 subjects each (treatment control groups). Patients group treated an oral diosmin (300 mg/day), C. (15 mg/day) (160 mg/day). All underwent a complete...

Retinal angiomatous proliferation (RAP) is a distinct form of choroidal neovascularization which may complicate wet age related macular degeneration (AMD). This exudative-AMD has peculiar clinical history and prognosis. RAP accounts from 8% to 22% newly diagnosed cases among patients previously as exudative AMD, up 25% the occult or minimally classic CNV. The disease more prevalent in women (90% cases) elderly (around 75 years), characterized by very poor neovascular process, whose retinal...
