The search and the probe of fundamental properties Higgs boson(s) and, in particular, determination their charge conjugation parity (CP) quantum numbers, are main tasks future high-energy colliders. We demonstrate that CP a standard model-like particle can be unambiguously assessed by measuring just total cross section top polarization associated boson production with quark pairs e(+)e(-) collisions.
We consider how the measurement of top polarization at Tevatron can be used to characterise and discriminate among different new physics models that have been suggested explain anomalous forward-backward asymmetry reported Tevatron. This has advantage catching essence parity violating effect characteristic models. Other observables constructed from these asymmetries are shown useful in discriminating between models, even after taking into account statistical errors. Finally, we discuss some...
We investigate the possibility that an imaginary anomalous $tbW$ coupling can be measured in process $pp \to tW^-X$ by means of T-odd observables. One such observable is polarization top quark transverse to production plane. Another asymmetry between cross sections with a positive and negative value certain correlation constructed out momenta when decays leptonically. The mean this correlation, which also T-odd, third observable. These three observables are shown proportional part only one...
In this Brief Report we investigate the production of charged heavy particles via \ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma} fusion at high energy pp colliders. We revise previous claims that cross section is comparable to or larger than for corresponding Drell-Yan process energies. Indeed find contribution total far below section. As as individual elastic, semielastic, and inelastic contributions are concerned they all same order magnitude.
In this note we demonstrate the use of top polarization in study $ t\bar{t} resonances at LHC, possible case where dynamic s implies a non-zero polarization. As probe construct an asymmetry decay-lepton azimuthal angle distribution (corresponding to sign cos ϕ ℓ ) laboratory. The is non-vanishing even for symmetric collider li ke positive z axis not uniquely defined. angular leptons has advantage being faithful top-spin analyzer, unaffected by anomalous tbW couplings, linear order. We study,...
The work contained herein constitutes a report of the ``Beyond Standard Model'' working group for Workshop "Physics at TeV Colliders", Les Houches, France, 26 May--6 June, 2003. research presented is original, and was performed specifically workshop. Tools calculations in minimal supersymmetric standard model are presented, including comparison dark matter relic density predicted by public codes. Reconstruction particle masses LHC future linear collider facility examined. Less orthodox...
If the SU(2)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}U(1) model is extended by adding a complex singlet spin-zero field and spontaneously broken global U(1) symmetry, Higgs scalar can decay into pair of Goldstone bosons. This could dominate over conventional modes fermion-antifermion pairs. In that case, boson may escape detection in standard search through ${\mathit{ZZ}}^{\mathrm{*}}$H coupling hence be lighter than implied CERN LEP data. Restrictions on mass other parameters are derived using...
The Tevatron, where the top quark was discovered, and currently functional Large Hadron Collider (LHC), with copiously produced pairs, enable a detailed study of top-quark properties. In particular, they can be used to test couplings gauge bosons. Several extensions standard model (SM) give rise anomalous bosons, in gluons. this work we examine how polarization, which is predicted negligibly small SM, measure chromomagnetic chromoelectric We place special emphasis on use angular...
We study single top production in association with a charged Higgs the type II two doublet model at Large Hadron Collider. The polarization of top, reflected angular distributions its decay products, can be sensitive probe new physics production. present theoretically expected polarizations for charged-Higgs production, which is significantly different from that closely related process tW Standard Model. then show an azimuthal asymmetry, constructed lepton distribution laboratory frame, and...
Kinematical distributions of decay products the top quark carry information on polarisation as well any possible new physics in quark. We construct observables form asymmetries kinematical to probe their effects. Charged-lepton angular are insensitive anomalous couplings leading order. Hence these can be a robust polarisation. However, difficult measure case highly boosted quarks compared energy products. These then sensitive, general, both and couplings. compare various for sensitivities...
We study the possible effects of $\mathrm{CP}$ violation in Higgs sector on $t\overline{t}$ production at a $\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ collider. These studies are performed model-independent way terms six form factors ${\mathfrak{R}{(S}_{\ensuremath{\gamma}}),\mathfrak{I}{(S}_{\ensuremath{\gamma}}),\mathfrak{R}{(P}_{\ensuremath{\gamma}}),\mathfrak{I}{(P}_{\ensuremath{\gamma}}{),S}_{t}{,P}_{t}}$ which parametrize mixing sector, and strategy for their determination is developed....
We show that an anomalous CP-violating γγZ vertex gives rise to a novel asymmetry with transversely polarized electron and positron beams in the process e+e−→γZ. This asymmetry, which is odd under naive time reversal, proportional real part of coupling. contrast simple forward–backward γ (or Z) unpolarized or longitudinally studied earlier, even imaginary part. estimate sensitivity future experiments determination CP-odd γZZ couplings using these asymmetries beams.
We examine the contribution of general Z*ZH and gamma*ZH three-point interactions arising from new physics to Higgs production process e+e- -> HZ. From Lorentz covariance, each these vertices may be written in terms three (complex) form factors, whose real imaginary parts together make six independent couplings. take into account possible longitudinal or transverse beam polarization likely available at a linear collider. show how partial cross sections angular asymmetries suitable...
We study the sensitivity of top polarization observables to CP phase $\zeta_t$ in Yukawa coupling process $pp\to thj$ at 14 TeV high-luminosity run Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). calculate this as well an azimuthal asymmetry charged lepton arising from decay lab frame. find that dependence lab-frame on closely resembles $\zeta_t$. As compared cross section, which is sensitive for larger values, can provide a measurement smaller values.
We show how transverse beam polarization at ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ colliders can provide a novel means to search for CP violation by observing the distribution of single final-state particle without measuring its spin. suggest an azimuthal asymmetry which singles out interference terms between standard model contribution and new-physics scalar or tensor effective interactions in limit electron mass is neglected. Such are inaccessible with unpolarized longitudinally polarized beams....
