We report the observation of a narrow charmoniumlike state produced in exclusive decay process B+/--->K+/-pi(+)pi(-)J/psi. This state, which decays into pi(+)pi(-)J/psi, has mass 3872.0+/-0.6(stat)+/-0.5(syst) MeV, value that is very near M(D0)+M(D(*0)) threshold. The results are based on an analysis 152M B-Bmacr; events collected at Upsilon(4S) resonance Belle detector KEKB collider. signal statistical significance excess 10sigma.
The Belle detector at the KEKB electron-positron collider has collected almost 1 billion Y(4S) events in its decade of operation. Super-KEKB, an upgrade is under construction, to increase luminosity by two orders magnitude during a three-year shutdown, with ultimate goal 8E35 /cm^2 /s luminosity. To exploit increased luminosity, been proposed. A new international collaboration Belle-II, being formed. Technical Design Report presents physics motivation, basic methods accelerator upgrade, as...
We propose the Hyper-Kamiokande (Hyper-K) detector as a next generation underground water Cherenkov detector. It will serve far of long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment envisioned for upgraded J-PARC, and capable observing -- beyond sensitivity Super-Kamiokande (Super-K) proton decays, atmospheric neutrinos, neutrinos from astronomical origins. The design Hyper-K is based on highly successful Super-K, taking full advantage well-proven technology. (to be continued)
The machine commissioning of KEKB started in December 1998 and its operation was terminated at the end June 2010 to upgrade SuperKEKB. In this paper, we summarize history show achievements made there.
The SuperKEKB project requires a positron and electron collider with peak luminosity of 8 × 1035 cm−2 s−1. This is 40 times that the KEKB B-factory, which operated for 11 years up to 2010. an asymmetry-energy double-ring collider; beam energy (LER) 4 GeV (HER) 7 GeV. An extremely small beta function at interaction point (IP) low emittance are necessary. In addition, in order achieve target luminosity, large horizontal crossing angle between two colliding beams adopted, as bunch length much...
We report the observation of a near-threshold enhancement in omegaJ/psi invariant mass distribution for exclusive B-->KomegaJ/psi decays. The results are obtained from 253 fb(-1) data sample that contains 275 x 10(6) BB pairs were collected near Upsilon(4S) resonance with Belle detector at KEKB asymmetric energy e(+)e(-) collider. statistical significance is estimated to be greater than 8sigma.
We report the observation of prompt J/psi via double cc; production from e+e- continuum. In this process one pair fragments into a meson while remaining either produces charmonium state or open charm. Both cases have been experimentally observed. find cross sections sigma[e+e- -->J/psieta(c)(gamma)]xB(eta(c)-->>or=4 charged)=(0.033(+0.007)(-0.006)+/-0.009) pb and sigma(e+e- -->J/psiD(*+)X)=(0.53(+0.19)(-0.15)+/-0.14) infer -->J/psicc;)/sigma(e+e- -->J/psiX)=0.59(+0.15)(-0.13)+/-0.12. The production rate and angular distribution γγ center-of-mass frame suggest that this previously unobserved χ′c2, 23P2 state.Received 15 December 2005DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.96.082003©2006 American Physical Society
We have investigated the resistivity $(\ensuremath{\rho}),$ thermoelectric power (TEP), and Hall coefficient ${(R}_{H})$ on high-quality single crystals of $R{\mathrm{Fe}}_{4}{\mathrm{P}}_{12}.$ TEP in ${\mathrm{CeFe}}_{4}{\mathrm{P}}_{12}$ is extremely large $(\ensuremath{\sim}0.5$ mV/K at 290 K) with a peak $\ensuremath{\sim}0.75$ around 65 K. The mobility also shows $\ensuremath{\sim}65$ K, suggesting carriers heavy masses developed lower temperatures related to f-hybridized band. Both Pr...

Using two different reconstruction methods, we find evidence statistically significant asymmetries for charged pion pairs e(+)e(-) annihilation at center-of-mass energy 10.52 GeV, which can be attributed to polarization primordial quarks. measurement was performed using sample 79 x 10(6) events collected Belle detector.
