It is pointed out that the factorization of disconnected Wilson loop amplitudes implies a major reduction in dynamical degrees freedom large-$N$ limit lattice gauge theory; original model may be replaced by much simpler one ($d$ space-time dimensionality), $Z=\ensuremath{\Pi}\stackrel{}{\ensuremath{\mu}}[\ensuremath{\int} d...

We present a simple set of rules for constructing ultraviolet-finite closed-fermionic-string models. In particular, the method easily gives four-dimensional models which possess $N=1$ super-symmetry, chiral fermions, and phenomenologically interesting gauge groups.

We study the continuum Schwinger-Dyson equations for nonperturbative two-dimensional quantum gravity coupled to various matter fields. The one-matrix model are explicitly derived and turn out be a formal Virasoro condition on square root of partition function, which is conjectured τ function KdV hierarchy. Furthermore, we argue that general multi-matrix models related W algebras suitable reductions KP hierarchy its generalizations.

The observed value of the Higgs boson mass indicates that potential becomes small and flat at scale around ${10}^{17}\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$. Having this fact in mind, we reconsider inflation scenario proposed by Bezrukov Shaposhnikov. It turns out nonminimal coupling $\ensuremath{\xi}$ squared to Ricci scalar can be smaller than 10. For example, $\ensuremath{\xi}=7$ corresponds tensor-to-scalar ratio $r\ensuremath{\simeq}0.2$, which is consistent with recent observation BICEP2.
