The machine commissioning of KEKB started in December 1998 and its operation was terminated at the end June 2010 to upgrade SuperKEKB. In this paper, we summarize history show achievements made there.
The Collins effect connects transverse quark spin with a measurable azimuthal asymmetry in the yield of hadronic fragments around quark's momentum vector. Using two different reconstruction methods we measure statistically significant asymmetries for charged pion pairs ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ annihilation at center-of-mass energies 10.52 GeV and 10.58 GeV, which can be attributed to fragmentation primordial quarks components. measurement was performed using data set $547\text{ }\text{...
Using 605 fb−1 of data collected at the Υ(4S) resonance we present a measurement inclusive radiative B-meson decay channel, B→Xsγ. For lower photon energy thresholds 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, and 2.0 GeV, as defined in rest frame B meson, measure partial branching fraction mean variance spectrum. At 1.7 GeV threshold obtain BF(B→Xsγ)=(3.45±0.15±0.40)×10−4, where errors are statistical systematic.Received 8 July 2009DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.103.241801©2009 American Physical Society
The interference fragmentation function translates the of a quark with transverse projection spin into an azimuthal asymmetry two final-state hadrons. In e+e- annihilation product functions is measured. We report nonzero asymmetries for pairs charge-ordered pi+pi- pairs, which indicate significant in this channel. results are obtained from 672 fb-1 data sample that contains 711 \times 106 and was collected at near ?(4S) resonance, Belle detector KEKB asymmetric-energy collider.
We present an analysis of charm quark fragmentation at 10.6 GeV, based on a data sample $103\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ collected by the Belle detector KEKB accelerator. consider into main charmed hadron ground states, namely ${D}^{0},{D}^{+},{D}_{s}^{+}$ and ${\ensuremath{\Lambda}}_{c}^{+}$, as well excited states ${D}^{*0}$ ${D}^{*+}$. The functions are important to measure they describe processes low energy scale, where calculations in perturbation theory lead large...
The differential cross section for the process $\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\eta}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ has been measured in kinematic range $0.84\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}<W<4.0\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$, $|\mathrm{cos}{\ensuremath{\theta}}^{*}|<0.8$, where $W$ and ${\ensuremath{\theta}}^{*}$ are energy ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ (or $\ensuremath{\eta}$) scattering angle, respectively, $\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ center-of-mass system....
This article describes a determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|{V}_{cb}|$ from decay ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}^{*\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\ell}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{\ensuremath{\ell}}$ using $711\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ Belle data collected near $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(4S)$ resonance. We simultaneously measure product form factor normalization $\mathcal{F}(1)$ and as well three parameters ${\ensuremath{\rho}}^{2}$, ${R}_{1}(1)$...
Abstract Atmospheric flow of cold air over mountain barriers in the Alpine region often gives a rise to strong and gusty downslope wind, Bora. Such flows are accompanied by atmospheric waves, generated passing an elevated barrier. phenomenon can only rarely be observed visually generally not reliably reproduced simplified numerical models. Orography‐induced small‐scale waves were experimentally on 25 January 2019 during Bora outbreak Vipava valley, Slovenia. A vertical scanning lidar,...
This paper presents the technical design of pathfinder Barcelona Raman LIDAR (pbrl) for northern site Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (Northern (CTAO-N)) located at Roque de los Muchachos (Roque (ORM)). The pBRL is developed continuous atmospheric characterization, essential correcting high-energy gamma-ray observations captured by Imaging Atmospheric Telescopes (IACTs). consists a steerable telescope with 1.8 m parabolic mirror and pulsed Nd:YAG laser frequency doubling tripling. Aerosol vertical profiles are valuable inputs for the evaluation of aerosol transport models, in order to improve understanding pollution ventilation processes which drive dispersion pollutants mountainous regions. With aim providing high-accuracy distributions particle mass concentration study small-scale valleys, aerosols from different sources (including Saharan dust and local biomass burning events) were investigated over Vipava valley, Slovenia, a representative hot-spot complex...
Aerosol direct radiative forcing is strongly dependent on aerosol distributions and types. A detailed understanding of such information still missing at the Alpine region, which currently undergoes amplified climate warming. Our goal was to study vertical variability types within above Vipava valley (45.87°N, 13.90°E, 125 m a.s.l.) reveal impact each particular type this a representative complex terrain in region often suffers from air pollution wintertime. This investigation performed using...
