The ATLAS detector as installed in its experimental cavern at point 1 CERN is described this paper. A brief overview of the expected performance when Large Hadron Collider begins operation also presented.
By using the ATLAS detector, observations have been made of a centrality-dependent dijet asymmetry in collisions lead ions at Large Hadron Collider. In sample lead-lead events with per-nucleon center mass energy 2.76 TeV, selected minimum bias trigger, jets are reconstructed fine-grained, longitudinally segmented electromagnetic and hadronic calorimeters. The transverse energies dijets opposite hemispheres observed to become systematically more unbalanced increasing event centrality leading...

An axion dark matter search with the CAPP-8TB haloscope is reported. Our results are sensitive to axion-photon coupling g_{aγγ} down QCD band over mass range between 6.62 and 6.82 μeV at a 90% confidence level, which most result in date.

Jet cross sections have been measured for the first time in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV using ATLAS detector. The measurement uses an integrated luminosity 17 nb-1 recorded Large Hadron Collider. anti-kt algorithm is used to identify jets, with two jet resolution parameters, R = 0.4 and 0.6. dominant uncertainty comes from scale, which determined within 7% central jets above 60 GeV transverse momentum. Inclusive single-jet differential are presented as...
