Background: Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 (PARP-1) facilitates the repair of DNA strand breaks. Inhibiting PARP-1 increases cytotoxicity DNA-damaging chemotherapy and radiation therapy in vitro. Because classical inhibitors have limited clinical utility, we investigated whether AG14361, a novel potent inhibitor (inhibition constant <5 nM), enhances effects human cancer cell cultures xenografts. Methods: The effect AG14361 on antitumor activity alkylating agent temozolomide, topoisomerase I...

In recent years, with the advancement of renewable energy technologies, hydropower has assumed an increasingly important regulatory and balancing role in power system. It plays grid frequency stability. This requires a faster response speed superior disturbance immunity regulation The characteristics active rejection control (ADRC) make it suitable for solving these kinds nonlinearities, oscillations, disturbances hydro-generating units. traditional ADRC complex structure large amount...

The Collins effect connects transverse quark spin with a measurable azimuthal dependence in the yield of hadronic fragments around quark's momentum vector. Using two different reconstruction methods, we find evidence statistically significant asymmetries for charged pion pairs e(+)e(-) annihilation at center-of-mass energy 10.52 GeV, which can be attributed to polarization primordial quarks. measurement was performed using sample 79 x 10(6) events collected Belle detector.

Aging is associated with alterations in glucose metabolism and sarcopenia that jointly contribute to a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Because aging considered as state low-grade inflammation, this study we examined whether older, healthy (lean, community-dwelling) participants have altered signaling flux through toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), key mediator innate adaptive immune responses. We also 4-month aerobic exercise program would an anti-inflammatory effect by reducing TLR4...

Background Pancreatic cancer is a highly lethal disease with increasing incidence worldwide. Despite surgical resection being the main curative option, only small percentage of patients are eligible for surgery. Radiotherapy, often combined chemotherapy, remains critical treatment, especially locally advanced cases. However, pancreatic cancer’s aggressiveness and partial radio resistance lead to frequent local recurrence. Understanding mechanisms radiotherapy crucial improving patient...
