Abstract Here we report corin, a synthetic hybrid agent derived from the class I HDAC inhibitor (entinostat) and an LSD1 (tranylcypromine analog). Enzymologic analysis reveals that corin potently targets CoREST complex shows more sustained inhibition of activity compared with entinostat. Cell-based experiments demonstrate exhibits superior anti-proliferative profile against several melanoma lines cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma to its parent monofunctional inhibitors but is less toxic...

MicroRNAs have been implicated in many critical cellular processes including apoptosis. We previously found that apoptosis pancreatic cancer cells was induced by adamantyl retinoid-related (ARR) molecule 3-Cl-AHPC. Here we report 3-Cl-AHPC-dependent involves regulating a number of microRNAs miR-150* and miR-630. 3-Cl-AHPC stimulated expression caused decreased c-Myb IGF-1R the cells. 3-Cl-AHPC-mediated reduction resulted diminished binding with Bcl-2 promoters, thereby causing repression...

17β-Oestradiol (E2)-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) have been implicated in regulating the growth of breast cancer cells. However, underlying mechanism this is not clear. Here we show how ROS through a novel redox signalling pathway involving nuclear respiratory factor-1 (NRF-1) and p27 contribute to E2-induced MCF-7 Chromatin immunoprecipitation, qPCR, mass spectrometry, western blot, colony formation, cell proliferation, assay, immunofluorescence microscopy were used study role...

Short total syntheses of the Leucetta-derived alkaloids, kealiinines A–C, have been accomplished using an intramolecular Friedel–Crafts–dehydration sequence a bis benzylic diol. The precursor diol was obtained through series position-specific Grignard reactions from 1-methyl-4,5-diiodoimidazole. C2-Azidation and hydrogenation azide then provided reported structures A–C. While 1H NMR data did not completely match for these materials, HPLC were consistent with assigned structure alkaloids.
