Objective To investigate the frequency and nature of adverse events related to type 2 biologic use in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis nasal polyps (CRSwNP), including dupilumab mepolizumab. Methods This is a single‐institution retrospective study real‐world patient data. Patients were included if they have diagnosis CRSwNP, undergone at least one endoscopic sinus surgery, taken two doses or mepolizumab between January 1, 2016, July 2023. Data collected include clinicodemographic...

Objective: Compare the caloric vestibular test (CVT) and video head impulse (vHIT) in evaluation of Meniere's disease (MD) to analyze their diagnostic accuracy.Materials methods: Retrospective review CVT vHIT performed MD patients at a tertiary care referral center Spain. Results: A total 88 were reviewed. The was abnormal 67% (n = 59) patients, while 66% 58) them. Agreement between both tests poor, regardless whether horizontal semicircular canal (SCC) or all SCC analyzed (kappa .21)....

Type 2 biologics have been used increasingly for the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). However, patterns biologic switching are understudied, and established guidelines sequential or simultaneous use do not yet exist. This is a Canadian multicenter retrospective study real-world patient data. Patients were included if they had recurrent CRSwNP despite maximal medical surgical management, received at least one dose type biologic. who remained on their initial...

The therapeutic efficacy of a synthetic parasite-derived peptide GK1, an immune response booster, was evaluated in mouse melanoma model. This model correlates with human stage IIb melanoma, which is treated wide surgical excision; parallel study employing treatment carried out as instructive goal.C57BL/6 mice were injected subcutaneously the flank 2×10(5) B16-F10 murine cells. When tumors reached 20 mm3, separated into two different groups; GK1 group, weekly peritumoral injections (10 μg/100...

Ectopic olfactory neuroblastoma (ONB) is a rare neuroendocrine sinonasal malignancy which arises from regions where neuroepithelium does not exist. Presentation of syndrome inappropriate antidiuretic hormone release (SIADH) in patients with ectopic ONB extremely rare. We report case 22-year-old patient and paraneoplastic SIADH that was managed at our center. The arising the left lamina papyracea extending into maxillary ethmoid sinuses filling nasal cavity. Correction sodium levels occurred...

Abstract Background Dysregulation of the airway microbiota is thought to contribute inflammation in both chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) and asthma. However, relationship between upper lower microbiome remains unclear. Methods Sinus lung brushes were collected from 29 CRS participants undergoing sinus surgery. DNA was extracted submitted for 16s rRNA sequencing. Alpha beta diversity metrics, taxonomic composition, differences individual taxa compared paired bronchial samples. Results...

SinoNasal Microbiota Transfer (SNMT) was safe with immediate benefit in all recipients, sustained improvement two of three recipients for up to 180 days. The addition antimicrobial photodynamic therapy worsened chronic rhinosinusitis. These promising SNMT results warrant further study safety and efficacy.

Introduction Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) appears during the same age group in which vitamin D and calcium deficiencies are evident. Vitamin deficiency could predispose to BPPV, since these two entities share a demineralization process. Objective To establish otological impact of supplementation patients with its who suffer from BPPV. Methods This was randomized clinical trial. A total 35 (< 30 ng/ml) BPPV were divided into 2 groups: Group 1 (control group): treatment...

Although there are several endoscopic grading systems for chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS), they limited in their range and applicability. We developed a SiNonasal Endoscopic Score (SiNES) that builds upon the strengths of previous while addressing limitations.

Patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) that is refractory to maximal medical and surgical therapy should be evaluated for other primary conditions. Cystic fibrosis (CF), immunodeficiency (PID), ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) are potential risk factors CRS. These conditions present variable disease severity diagnosis may delayed into adulthood. We report a case of mother-daughter pair CRS management. The patients were further found have features consistent CF, PID, PCD. All 3 rare disorders...
