Kombucha, a fermented tea (KT) is claimed to possess many beneficial properties. Recent studies have suggested that KT prevents paracetamol and carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatotoxicity. We investigated the role of was against tertiary butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) induced cytotoxicity cell death in murine hepatocytes. TBHP well known reactive oxygen species (ROS) inducer, it induces oxidative stress organ pathophysiology. In our experiments, caused reduction viability, enhanced membrane...
The increasing threat of antibiotic resistance has created an urgent need for new antibacterial agents, particularly plant-based natural compounds and their derivatives. Thymol, a monoterpenoid phenolic compound derived from Monarda citriodora , is known its aromatic therapeutic properties, including activity. This study focuses on synthesizing dihydropyrimidinone dihydropyridine derivatives thymol exploring properties. synthesized were tested in vitro potential against pathogenic...
The present study investigated the role of D-saccharic acid 1,4-lactone (DSL) in spleen tissue alloxan (ALX) induced diabetic rats. Diabetes was rats by injecting ALX (at a dose 120 mg/kg body weight) intraperitoneally sterile normal saline. Elevated levels blood glucose, glycosylated Hb and TNFα decreased plasma insulin disturbed intra-cellular antioxidant machineries were detected exposed animals. Oral administration DSL at 80 weight, however, restored these alterations Studies on...
Lymphatic filariasis is a vectorborne parasitic disease that results in morbidities, disabilities and socio-economic loss each year globally. Inflammatory consequences associated with any form of have drawn special attention. However, the molecular insight behind inflammation host macrophage (MФ) considered as one shaded areas filarial research. Herein, major emphasis was given to study signalling pathway MФ induced by surface proteins (SPs) parasite through vitro vivo approaches....
Sustained hyperglycemia and increased oxidative stress play major roles in the development of secondary complications diabetes including liver injury. Dietary supplement antioxidants is effective preventing mediated tissue damage diabetic pathophysiology. D-Saccharic acid 1,4-lactone (DSL), a derivative D-glucaric acid, present many dietary plants known for its detoxifying antioxidant properties. Our early investigation showed that DSL can ameliorate alloxan (ALX) induced mellitus rats by...
Self-assembled hydrogels by virtue of their unique 3D network and tunability have extensively been explored for bio-medical applications like tissue engineering, delivery release therapeutic agents, etc. Herein, we demonstrate the first-time nucleoside-based biocompatible with a remarkable leishmanicidal effect against both Leishmania major promastigotes amastigotes no cytotoxic on macrophage cell line. In this work, series synthesized silver ion-driven self-assembly natural nucleoside...
Abstract D‐Saccharic acid 1,4‐lactone (DSL) is a derivative of D‐glucaric acid. It beta‐glucuronidase inhibitor and possesses anticarcinogenic, detoxifying, antioxidant properties. In the present study, protective effects DSL were investigated against tertiary butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) induced cytotoxicity cell death in vitro using murine hepatocytes. Exposure TBHP caused reduction viability, enhanced membrane leakage, disturbed intracellular machineries Investigating signaling mechanism...
Diabetes is a prevalent systemic disease affecting significant proportion of the population worldwide. There growing scientific evidence in connecting oxidative stress with pathogenesis and development diabetes its secondary complications. Therefore, it seems reasonable that molecules antioxidant activities can play an important role improvement diabetes. In recent years, research showed plant-derived polyphenols, due to their various biological properties, could be effective for treatment...
In this study, we report the synthesis of four 2-(arylazo)phenol-Pd(II) complexes and their anti-proliferative property against human lung cancer (A549), cervical (HeLa), ovarian teratocarcinoma (PA-1) cell lines with cisplatin as gold standard. One complexes, [Pd(L(2))2], induced robust apoptosis in all chosen cells, revealed by annexin-V-positive/propidium iodide dual staining, increased sub-G1 cycle population, significant morphological changes treated cells. The Pd complex inflicted...
This study reports the identification of a chitin deacetylase gene in Cryptococcus laurentii strain RY1 over‐expressing under nitrogen limitation by differential display. The up‐regulation took place robustly growing cells rather than starving quiescent autophagic cells. Quantitative Real Time‐PCR, enzyme activity cell lysate and wall analysis corroborated limitation. These results suggest might play significant role limiting growth RY1.
