The Minimum Bias Trigger Scintillators (MBTS) delivered the primary triggers for selecting events from real LHC collisions with smallest bias low luminosity RunI fills 2009-2013 (proton-proton, lead-lead and lead-proton collisions). Similarly, next RunII of (2015-2018) MBTS will provide key ingredients first physics measurements at larger energy (charge multiplicity, proton-proton cross section, rapidity gap measurements, ... ) in general fills.
This paper presents the first pixel detector realized using BCD8 technology of STMicroelectronics. The is a 160 nm process with bipolar, CMOS and DMOS devices; mainly targeted for an automotive application. silicon particle as sensor diode dimension 250 × 50 μm2. To support signal sensitivity diode, circuit simulations have been performed substrate voltage V. analog processing circuitry digital operation designed supply 1.8 Moreover, part confined in unit (diode sensor) to achieve 100 % fill...

With the first year of successful data taking proton-proton collisions at LHC, full chain ATLAS Trigger and Data Acquisition System could be tested under real conditions. The trigger monitoring quality infrastructure was essential to this success. We describe software tools used monitor system performance, assess overall selection analyze resource utilization during collision runs. Monitoring performance operation these systems required smooth parallel running many complex depending on each...
Radiation detectors built in high-voltage and high-resistivity CMOS technology are an interesting option for the large area pixel-trackers sought upgrade of Large Hadron Collider experiments. A characterisation BCD8 by STMicroelectronics process has been performed to evaluate its suitability realisation sensors with a depleted region several tens micrometer. Sensors featuring $50\times250$ $\mu \text{m}^2$ pixels on 125 $\Omega$cm resistivity substrate have characterized. The response...
Neutral particles with long decay paths and many in the final state represent, from an experimental point of view, a challenge both for trigger reconstruction capabilities ATLAS detector. The Hidden Valley scenario is excellent framework to explore challenges posed by long‐lived neutral particles. In this paper we present strategies select such events, particular Higgs boson decays, special attention level problems.
Graphical Processing Units (GPUs) provide exceptional massive parallel computing power with small consumption.General Purpose Computing on GPU (GPGPU) brings high performance off-the-shelf products. However the full exploitation of this new paradigm will not be possible if software applications only partially employ parallelism.High Energy Physics (HEP) experiments have much to gain adopting paradigm. The expected in reducing application latency and dealing data throughput increase, allow...
