Despite the growing interest in AI for language assessment, there remains a significant research gap regarding its usefulness assessing less proficient skills, particularly those of learners English as second or foreign (S/FL). models often prioritize writing, neglecting intricacies learner language. This study addresses this by evaluating capacity to replicate written performances both L1 and L2 novice academic writers, with focus on formulaic Using an tool based GPT-2 model, two...

Prolonged hypokalemia from chronic laxative abuse is recognized as the cause of tubulointerstitial disease, known "hypokalemic nephropathy," but it not clear whether contributes to acute kidney injury (AKI). A 42-year-old woman with a history disease result purging type anorexia nervosa (AN-P), developed an anuric AKI requiring hemodialysis and mild 2 months later. Both episodes involved severe moderate (1.2 2.7 mmol/L, respectively), volume depletion, rhabdomyolysis. The histologic findings...

This study aimed to assess the effects of different dialysate bicarbonate concentrations in correcting acid-base imbalance 53 stable hemodialysis patients a university-hemodialysis unit. Three were assigned, i.e. 25 mEq/L 10, 30 30, and 35 13 patients. Blood gas analyses from arterial line blood samples before after dialysis mid-week performed for determination pH serum (HCO3 (-)) concentration. The mean values predialysis HCO3 (-) mildly acidotic all 3 groups, but not significantly among...

Ultrasound-guided cannulation of a large-bore catheter into the internal jugular vein was performed to provide temporary hemodialysis vascular access for uremia in 65-yr-old woman with acute renal failure and sepsis superimposed on chronic failure.Despite absence any clinical evidence such as bleeding or hematoma during procedure, chest x-ray computed tomographic angiogram neck showed that had inadvertently been inserted subclavian artery.Without immediately removing applying manual external...

Hyperphosphatemia is an unusual manifestation in patients with multiple myeloma without a significantly reduced glomerular filtration rate. Serum phosphate may be falsely elevated when large amount of paraproteins present the serum, because ultraviolet light absorbance phosphomolybdate assay, which most commonly used for serum measurement. This pseudohyperphosphatemia can confirmed by deproteinization patients. We report case presenting spurious hyperphosphatemia revealing using sulfosalicylic acid.

As the association between obesity and bone health remains controversial in children adolescents, we investigate effects of parameters on mineral density (BMD) 2060 Korean adolescents who participated 2008–2011 Korea National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES). Multiple regression analysis covariance (ANCOVA) were conducted to examine both linear non-linear associations total-body-less-head (TBLH) BMD four parameters: body mass index, waist circumference, waist-to-height ratio,...

Aims: Effects of the blockade renin-angiotensin system (RAS), by angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEi), type 1 angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), or a combination both, were evaluated in Adriamycin (ADR)-induced glomerulopathy. Methods: Male Sprague-Dawley rats (180–250 g) induced glomerulopathy treatment with ADR (2 mg/kg, i.v.). Six weeks later, they treated cilazapril (1 mg/kg/day) and/or losartan (10 for an additional 6 weeks....

Pulse wave velocity (PWV) is a main parameter for arterial stiffness. In patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), PWV known to be associated increased mortality. But factors related the in ESRD are not well defined. addition, carotid-femoral (cfPWV) measurement, which traditionally has been used evaluate stiffness, low reproducibility. Recently, brachial-ankle (baPWV) can performed more easily than cfPWV become available as means of measuring PWV. The aim this study investigate clinical...
