Background. The pattern of contact sensitization to the supposedly most important allergens assembled in baseline series differs between countries, presumably at least partly because exposure differences. Objectives. To describe prevalence tested consecutive patients years 2007 and 2008, discuss possible Methods. Data from 39 departments 11 European countries comprising Surveillance System on Contact Allergy network ( www.essca‐dc.org ) this period have been pooled analysed according common...

The oxidized forms of the fragrance terpenes limonene and linalool are known to cause allergic contact dermatitis. Significant rates allergy these fragrances have been reported in European studies a recent worldwide study. Patch testing is not routinely carried out either U.K. or other centres internationally. To investigate prevalence U.K.Between 1 August 2011 31 December 2012, 4731 consecutive patients 13 dermatology departments were tested for hydroperoxides 0·3% pet., 1·0% stabilized...

(Meth)acrylates are potent sensitizers and a common cause of allergic contact dermatitis (ACD). The frequency (meth)acrylate ACD has increased with soaring demand for acrylic nails. A preliminary audit suggested significant rate positive patch tests to (meth)acrylates using aimed testing in patients providing clear history exposure. To date, have not been routinely tested the baseline test series U.K. Europe. To determine whether inclusion 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (2-HEMA) 2% petrolatum...

Background There is a significant rate of sensitization worldwide to the oxidized fragrance terpenes limonene and linalool. Patch testing not routinely carried out; ideal patch test concentration unknown. Objectives To determine best concentrations for linalool hydroperoxides, added British baseline series, optimize detection true allergy minimize irritant reactions. Methods During 2013–2014, 4563 consecutive patients in 12 U.K. centres were tested hydroperoxides petrolatum (pet.) 0·3%, 0·2%...

Chemical ultraviolet (UV) filters have, over the last few decades, been increasingly used not only in conventional sunscreen products but also many cosmetics and toiletries. Allergic contact dermatitis as well photoallergic reactions have documented a consequence of such use. Over 3-year period, we recorded number positive patch test to selection chemical UV that added our usual cosmetics/facial series. Our objective was investigate whether any these produced significant numbers results...

Abstract We report a case of systemic lupus erythematosus associated with C1q deficiency. Our patient presented at the age 6 years cutaneous lupus. She later developed Raynaud’s phenomenon, non-scarring alopecia, oral ulceration and grand mal seizures due to cerebral vasculitis. Complement C3 C4 levels were consistently normal during flares her haemolytic activity complement was absent, suggesting deficiency an early component cascade. No could be detected.

We report the case 14 year old girl presenting acute allergic contact dermatitis to hair dyes. Some years previously she had tattoo prior application tacky transfer skin outline design followed some days later by localised blistering reaction.
