ABSTRACT In September 2023, France was one of the first countries that started a national immunisation campaign with nirsevimab, new monoclonal antibody against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Using data from network paediatric intensive care units (PICUs), we aimed to estimate nirsevimab effectiveness severe cases RSV bronchiolitis in France. We conducted case–control study based on test‐negative design and included 288 infants reported by 20 PICUs. estimated at 75.9% (48.5–88.7) main...

Importance
In several countries, 5 years after 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) implementation, serotype replacement has been reported for invasive disease, which raises concerns about the long-term outcome of PCV13 implementation. The effect vaccination on community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) remains unknown.
Objective
To assess implementation CAP in children.
Design, Setting, and Participants
This quasi-experimental, population-based, interrupted...

Abstract We describe here changes in the bacterial causes of pleural empyema before and after implementation 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) program France (2009–2017). For 220 (39.3%) 560 children, a cause was found. The frequency infection decreased during study from 79.1% 2009 to 36.4% 2017 (P < .001). Group A streptococcus is now leading documented (45.5%).
