The origin and interpretation of the Raman features amorphous (hydrogenated) carbon films deposited at room temperature in region 1000–1700 cm−1 is discussed this paper. Possible interpretations linewidths, positions ‘‘G’’ graphite peak ‘‘D’’ disordered peak, their intensity ratios are examined using results obtained from magnetron sputtered magnetic field enhanced plasma films. It shown that even small ‘‘clusters’’ condensed benzene rings (cluster size below 20 Å) can explain observed...

Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM), i. e., the quantification of serum or plasma concentrations medications for dose optimization, has proven a valuable tool patient-matched psychopharmacotherapy. Uncertain adherence, suboptimal tolerability, non-response at therapeutic doses, pharmacokinetic drug-drug interactions are typical situations when measurement medication is helpful. Patient populations that may predominantly benefit from TDM in psychiatry children, pregnant women, elderly patients,...

Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) enables the clinician to adjust dosage of drugs according characteristics individual patient. The interdisciplinary TDM group Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Neuropsychopharmakologie und Pharmakopsychiatrie (AGNP) has worked out consensus guidelines assist psychiatrists and laboratories involved in psychotropic drug analysis optimise use drugs. Five research-based levels recommendation were defined with regard routine monitoring plasma concentrations for dose...

An electrically controlled ultra-compact surface plasmon polariton absorption modulator (SPPAM) is proposed. The device can be as small a few micrometers depending on the required extinction ratio and acceptable loss. allows for operation far beyond 100 Gbit/s, being only limited by RC time constants. comprises stack of metal/insulator/metal-oxide/metal layers, which support strongly confined asymmetric (SPP) in 1.55 μm telecommunication wavelength window. Absorption modulation achieved...

Highly tetrahedral, dense amorphous carbon (ta-C) films have been deposited using rf sputtering of graphite by an unbalanced magnetron with intense dc Ar-ion plating at low temperatures (<70 °C). The ratio the argon ion flux to neutral Φi/Φn is about 5. film density and compressive stress are found pass through a maximum 2.7 g/cm3 16 GPa, respectively, energy 100 eV. Experiments higher ratios Φi/Φn=10 show that it possible deposit densities up 3.1 sp3 contents 87%. Deposition ta-C in...

Catatonia is a psychomotor syndrome with concomittant akinesia and anxiety which both respond almost immediately to benzodiazepines such as lorazepam. The benzodiazepine receptor distribution was therefore investigated in akinetic catatonia single photon emission tomography (SPECT) using iodine-123-iomazenil ((123) I Iomazenil).Ten catatonic patients, 10 psychiatric controls (similar age, sex, medication, underlying diagnosis but without syndrome), 20 healthy were SPECT 2 hours after...

Amorphous carbon films with high sp3 content were deposited by magnetron sputtering and intense argon ion plating. Above a compressive stress of 13 GPa strong increase the density is observed. We explain stress-induced phase transition sp2 configured to carbon. Preferential component in plays minor role compared sp2⇒sp3 at formed during deposition process. Transmission electron microscopy shows evidence graphitic regions sputtered/Ar plated amorphous thin films. Differences microstructure...

Nitrogenated and hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C:H:N) films have been deposited by a plasma beam source using gas mixture of C2H2, Ar N2. The Ar/C2H2 ratio is kept constant at 3, with the nitrogen flow allowed to vary. Nonnitrogenated films, ratios 3 6 were also analyzed before attempting identify modifications microstructural properties due doping. nitrogenated a-C in this study reveal interesting regard their optical gap, electrical conductivity, mobility charge carriers.
