How mechanical signals are transmitted in the cardiac myocyte is poorly understood. In this study, we produced a tamoxifen-inducible mouse model which β1 integrin could be reduced specifically adult cardiomyocyte, so that function of assessed postnatal and mechanically stressed heart. The expression was to 35% control levels, but remained normal at baseline. With aortic constriction, knockout mice survived had blunted hypertrophic response. Integrin myocytes, contrast controls, showed...

The present work describes the synthesis of 22 new imidazopyridine analogues arising from medicinal chemistry optimization at different sites on molecule. Seven and 12 compounds exhibited an in vitro EC50 ≤ 1 μM against Trypanosoma cruzi (T. cruzi) brucei brucei) parasites, respectively. Based promising results activity (EC50 < 100 nM), cytotoxicity, metabolic stability, protein binding, pharmacokinetics (PK) properties, compound 20 was selected as a candidate for vivo efficacy studies. This...

The risk of developing a surgical site infection after extremity fracture repair is nearly 5 times greater than in most elective orthopedic procedures. For all procedures, it standard practice to prepare the operative with an antiseptic solution; however, there limited evidence guide choice solution used for repair. To compare effectiveness iodophor vs chlorhexidine solutions reduce infections and unplanned fracture-related reoperations patients who underwent repair. The PREP-IT (Program...

Cluster randomized crossover trials are often faced with a dilemma when selecting an optimal model of consent, as the traditional obtaining informed consent from participant's before initiating any trial related activities may not be suitable. We describe our experience engaging patient advisors to identify for PREP-IT trials. This paper also examines surrogate measures success selected consent. The program consists two multi-center cluster that engaged determine consent. Patient and...
