Background In Sweden, information on seroprevalence of tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) in the population, including vaccination coverage and infection, is scattered. This largely due to absence a national (TBE) registry, scarcity previous serological studies use methods not distinguishing between antibodies induced by infection. Furthermore, number notified TBE cases Sweden has continued increase recent years despite increased vaccination. Aim The aim was estimate TBEV Sweden. Methods...

Guidelines on storage for samples intended Prothrombin Time - International Normalized Ratio (PT-INR) analysis have changed over time, sometimes advising against cold due to presumed activation of the coagulation cascade. Previous studies PT-INR mainly been underpowered, performed in glass tubes, and not a modern laboratory setting. In this study, we re-analyzed 1149 samples, divided into low-level (PT-INR <1.3), high-level 1.8-3.5) after 3 h storage. We found no statistical difference but...

The immunoglobulin (Ig) level in serum from Atlantic cod, Gudus morhua L. (Teleostomi, Gadiformes), was measured using ELISA. Cod contains 5.62 ± 0.19 mg Ig ml, which constitute 17.2% of the total proteins. Polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies (Ab) against cod‐Ig were used for cross‐reactivity studies sera other species. cross‐reaction with polyclonal Ab high gadifom fish, low or absent tested Immunoprecipitation showed that only binds to results within gadiform group indicate (1) Gadidae...

A new series of pyrazinecarboxamide DGAT1 inhibitors was designed to address the need for a candidate drug with good potency, selectivity, and physical DMPK properties combined low predicted dose in man. Rational design optimization this led discovery compound 30 (AZD7687), which met project objectives particular over ACAT1, solubility, preclinical PK profiles. This showed anticipated excellent pharmacokinetic human volunteers.

GPR103, a G-protein coupled receptor, has been reported to have orexigenic properties through activation by the endogenous neuropeptide ligands QRFP26 and QRFP43. Recognizing that central administration of QRFP43 increases high fat food intake in rats, we decided investigate if antagonists GPR103 could play role managing feeding behaviors. Here present development new series pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridines as small molecule with affinity, drug metabolism pharmacokinetics safety parameters suitable...

BACKGROUND Counting very low levels of leukocytes is technically challenging but mandatory for quality control leukocyte‐depleted plasma. Established assays, such as flow cytometry and counting in the Nageotte chamber, are laborious expensive. The aim this study was to test two alternative cerebrospinal fluid program routine hematology analyzer ADVIA 2120 a fluorescence microscopy analyzer, ADAM‐rWBC. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS Linearity, accuracy, precision were established 2120, ADAM‐rWBC...

Abstract Background The recently launched high-throughput assays for the detection of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 may change managing strategies COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed at investigating performance three and one rapid lateral flow test relative to recommended criteria defined by regulatory authorities. Methods A total 133 samples, including 100 pre-pandemic 20 samples from RT-PCR positive individuals, 13 potentially cross-reactive were analysed with IgG (Abbott), Elecsys...

BACKGROUND Quality control of residual white blood cells (WBCs) and red (RBCs) in leukoreduced plasma is mandatory. Although technological advances have been made, analysis quality controls using routine hematology analyzers has not generally introduced. The aim this study was to evaluate if the analyzer Sysmex XN‐10, (Sysmex Nordic ApS) could be used for WBCs RBCs plasma. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS Linearity, accuracy, precision were established two XN‐10 spiked donor ADAM rWBC (NanoEnTek)...

This study aimed to describe differences in prevalence and the long-term presence of nucleocapsid antibodies (N-antibodies) elicited by SARS-CoV-2 infection a Swedish blood donor population not subjected lockdown. We tested 20,651 samples for from beginning March 2020 27 months onwards using Roche Elecsys Anti-SARS-CoV-2 assay. The proportion positive antibody was determined each week. After exclusions one-time donors subjects with incomplete data, 19,726 4003 remained. Differences...

Abstract It is increasingly appreciated that cancer results from the concerted performance of genetically altered tumor cells interacting with ostensibly normal in microenvironment. As progresses, surrounding stroma co-evolves into an activated state through continuous paracrine communication, thus creating a dynamic signaling circuitry promotes initiation and growth, ultimately leads to fatal disease. We aim molecularly map support functions performed by various cell types comprising...
