In this study, Ganoderma lucidum crude polysaccharide (GLP) was found to have protective effect on liver damage in mice caused by restraint stress through improving oxidative status. Two polysaccharides, including a neutral β-glucan (GLPB2) and an acidic (GLPC2) were purified from GLP anion-exchange chromatography (AEC) combined with gel permeation. GLPC2, average molecular weight of 20.56 kDa, exhibited stronger hepatoprotective against H2O2-induced injury HepG2 cells compared GLPB2....

Prediabetes (pre-DM) is the buffer period before developing overt type 2 diabetes (T2DM), and search for novel food agents to protect against pre-DM in high demand. Our team previously reported that Grifola frondosa (maitake mushroom) polysaccharide F2 reduced insulin resistance T2DM rats induced by streptozocin (STZ) combined with a high-fat diet (HFD). This study aimed evaluate effects of G. on disordered lipid glucose metabolism investigate its mechanisms mice. (30 60 mg/kg/d) was...

Abstract Endothelial senescence is believed to constitute the initial pathogenesis of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). MicroRNA-335-5p (miR-335-5p) expression significantly up-regulated in oxidative stress-induced endothelial cells (ECs). Sirtuin7 (SIRT7) considered prevent EC senescence, yet data on its response ASCVD risk factors are limited. The present study analyzed elevated levels miR-335-5p and decreased SIRT7 human umbilical vein (HUVECs), found that high glucose,...

Inhibiting the intestinal α-glucosidase can effectively control postprandial hyperglycemia for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) treatment. In present study, we reported binding interaction of betulinic acid (BA), a pentacyclic triterpene widely distributed in nature, on and its alleviation hyperglycemia. BA was verified to exhibit strong inhibitory effect against with an IC50 value 16.83 ± 1.16 μM. More importantly, it showed synergistically acarbose. The underlying mechanism investigated by...
