A biomolecular–inorganic hybrid is formed from anionic biomolecules (such as DNA fragments, ATP, or an antisense oligonucleotide) intercalated in a cationic Mg/Al layered double hydroxide (see picture). Such can be used to deliver drugs genes the inorganic noncytotoxic carrier. Cellular uptake experiments confirm this, with carrier dissolving slowly leukemia cell, and thereby releasing its growth-inhibiting load.

We apply a voltage pulse to electrically excite the incompressible region of two-dimensional electron liquid in $\nu=2/3$ fractional quantum Hall state and investigate collective excitations both edge bulk via photoluminescence spectral energy shifts. Introducing an offset significantly enhances excitation signal. Real-space time-resolved measurements reveal dynamics excitations, with estimated group velocity approximately $3 \times 10^4$ m/s. These align well magneto-plasmon model. Our...

Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) is a nucleic acid method that allows the simple, quick, and low-cost detection of various viral genes. LAMP assays are susceptible to generating non-specific amplicons, as high concentrations DNA primers can give rise primer dimerization mismatched hybridizations, resulting in false-positive signals. Herein, we reported poly(ethylene glycol)-engrafted nanosized graphene oxide (PEG-nGO) significantly enhance specificity LAMP, owing its ability...

Helicases are motor enzymes that convert the chemical energy of NTP hydrolysis into mechanical force for motion and nucleic acid strand separation. Within cell, helicases process a range sequences. It is not known whether this composite rate moving opening strands acids depends on base sequence. Surface protein hemagglutinin (HA) mediates the binding of influenza virus to host cell receptors containing sialic acid, facilitating entry into cells. Therefore, HA is regarded as a suitable target for development detection devices. In this study, we isolated single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) aptamers HA1 subunit subtype H1 (H1-HA1), but not H5 (H5-HA1), using counter-systematic evolution ligands by exponential enrichment (counter-SELEX) procedure. Abstract Novel bio-/organic-inorganic hybrid compounds of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and methotrexate (MTX)-layered double hydroxide are prepared by ion-exchange type intercalation reaction. The layered inorganic support. Mg2Al(NO3)-LDH, is at first obtained coprecipitation in an aqueous solution, then the interlayer NO3 − anions replaced guest molecules such as (an anticancer drug) (about 500 ∼ 1000 base pairs), leading to form new bio-/organic-nanohybrids. Upon intercalating into layers,...

Phage T7 helicase unwinds double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) by encircling one strand while excluding the complementary from its central channel. When translocates on single-stranded (ssDNA), it has kilobase processivity; yet, is unable to processively unwind linear dsDNA, even 60 base-pairs long. Particularly, GC-rich dsDNAs are unwound with lower amplitudes under single-turnover conditions. Here, we provide evidence that switches ssDNA dsDNA during unwinding. The switching propensity higher when...
