Abstract In South Korea, where avian influenza virus subtypes H3N2, H5N1, H6N1, and H9N2 circulate or have been detected, 3 genetically similar canine (H3N2) strains of origin (A/canine/Korea/01/2007, A/canine/Korea/02/2007, A/canine/Korea/03/2007) were isolated from dogs exhibiting severe respiratory disease. To determine whether the novel was transmitted among dogs, we experimentally infected beagles with this isolate. The shed through nasal excretion, seroconverted, became ill necrotizing...
Susceptible dogs were brought into contact with experimentally infected an avian-origin influenza A virus (H3N2) that had been isolated from a pet dog severe respiratory syndrome. All the and contact-exposed showed elevated rectal temperatures, shedding, seroconversion, necrotizing tracheobronchitis bronchioalveolitis.
Abstract Targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology detects specific mutations that can provide treatment opportunities for colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. We included 145 CRC patients who underwent surgery. analyzed the mutation frequencies of common actionable genes and their association with clinicopathological characteristics oncologic outcomes using targeted NGS. Approximately 97.9% (142) showed somatic mutations. Frequent were observed in TP53 (70%), APC (60%), KRAS (49%)....
As introduced, multimodal pain management bundle for ileostomy reversal may be considered to reduce postoperative and hospital stay. The aim of this study was evaluate clinical efficacy perioperative ileostomy.
Estrogen receptor (ER) binding has been shown to decrease in breast cancer cell lines exposed sodium butyrate; however, the underlying mechanisms are unknown. In MCF-7 cells, butyrate caused a rapid time-and concentration-dependent ER mRNA levels, apparent by 3 h at mM butyrate.ER gene transcription rate was decreased and cycloheximide co-treatment did not relieve this inhibitory effect, suggesting that effect dependent on ongoing protein synthesis. In both T-47D cells mirrored an increase...
Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) reduces postoperative complications and shortens hospital stays. We aimed to describe the implementation improvement of ERAS protocols in our institution through a multidisciplinary team approach.A comprised colorectal surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, performance was launched develop protocol. The protocol followed patients who underwent colonic rectal surgery between January November 2017. 22 elements preoperative,...
Active serologic surveillance is necessary to control the spread of avian influenza virus (AIV).In this study, we evaluated a commercially-available cELISA in terms its ability detect AIV antibodies sera 3,358 animals from twelve species.cELISA detected against reference H1-through H15-subtype strains without cross reactivity.Furthermore, was able produced following challenge H9N2 subtype chickens, or vaccination H9 H5 subtypes ducks and geese.Next, tested sensitivity specificity with...
Ceftriaxone is a commonly used antibiotic due to some of its advantages. Reversible gallbladder (GB) sludge or stone has been reported after ceftriaxone therapy. Most these patients have no symptom, but the GB can sometimes cause cholecystitis. We experienced two who had newly developed stones therapy for diverticulitis and pneumonia, this resolved spontaneously 1 month discontinuation drug. Awareness complication could help prevent unnecessary cholecystectomy.
Abstract Background The clinical significance of pre-sarcopenia in colorectal cancer obstruction has not yet been described. present study aimed to determine the short- and long-term oncologic impacts obstructive cancer. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 214 patients with colon between January 2004 December 2013. Initial staging computed tomography (CT) scans identified visceral obesity by measuring muscle fat areas at third lumbar vertebra level. Both short-term postoperative outcomes...
Purpose: The objective of this study was to compare the perioperative outcomes between single-incision laparoscopic appendectomy (SILA) and 3-port conventional (CLA) in enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocol. Methods: Of 101 with ERAS protocol cases for appendicitis from March 2019 April 2020, 54 patients underwent SILA multimodal analgesic approach (group 1) while 47 received CLA 2). were compared single institution’s protocol. To adjust baseline differences selection bias,...
The Da Vinci SP robot system was recently introduced, but its safety and feasibility for rectal cancer compared with the currently used have not been reported. This a single-centre retrospective study. Data from patients who underwent abdominal total mesorectal excision (TME) October 2015 to 2022 were analysed. After propensity score matching, short-term outcomes compared.A of 56 patient data Intersphincteric resection more common in group (7 cases (25%) vs. 0 case (0%), p = 0.001). operation...
