Logistic regression is used frequently in cohort studies and clinical trials. When the incidence of an outcome interest common study population (>10%), adjusted odds ratio derived from logistic can no longer approximate risk ratio. The more frequent outcome, overestimates when it than 1 or underestimates less 1. We propose a simple method to derive estimate association treatment effect that better represents true relative risk.

The circulating antiangiogenic protein soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 (sFlt1), also known as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptor 1, sequesters the proangiogenic proteins placental (PlGF) and VEGF. Its level correlates with severity of preclampsia onset hypertension or proteinuria. Increased expression sFlt1 in pregnant rats creates a state resembling preeclampsia. Soluble endoglin, coreceptor for transforming factors, is another that acts to produce severe...

The cause of preeclampsia remains unclear. Limited data suggest that excess circulating soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 (sFlt-1), which binds placental growth factor (PlGF) and vascular endothelial (VEGF), may have a pathogenic role.

Micronutrient malnutrition affects the well-being of both adults and children. Dietary diversity score (DDS) is a useful evaluation index with relatively well-developed guideline by FAO. It's meaningful to assess predict inadequate micronutrient intakes using DDS in Chinese children, after ruling out risk obesity coming more dietary diversity. Data for were extracted from Nutrition Study Preschool Children School Children, which cross-sectional study covering 8 cities China, including 1694...

Objectives Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is associated with a higher risk for adverse health outcomes during pregnancy and delivery both mothers babies. This study aims to assess the short-term economic burden of GDM in China 2015. Design Using TreeAge Pro, an analytical decision model was built estimate incremental costs quality-of-life loss due GDM, comparison without from 28th gestational week until including childbirth. The populated probabilities based on current literature,...

Background Gender disparities in mortality have drawn great interest, with previous studies identifying various biological, social, and behavioral factors contributing to the observed gender differences. This study aims identify sources of rates quantify extent which these mediate differences all-cause mortality. Methods Data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) conducted between 2005 2018 were analyzed. A total 38,924 participants included study. information,...

Rationale: Although there has been a long-standing interest in the human health effects of vitamin E, comprehensive analysis association between circulating E and long-term mortality not conducted. Objective: Determine whether serum α-tocopherol (the predominant form E) is related to overall cause-specific elucidate dose-response relationships with better quantification associations. Methods Results: We conducted biochemical 29 092 participants ATBC Study (Alpha-Tocopherol, Beta-Carotene...

Abnormalities in circulating angiogenic factors have been reported diseases of abnormal placentation, such as preeclampsia and intrauterine growth restriction. Abstract Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) play important roles in many aspects of development, including lens development. The is derived from the surface ectoderm and consists an anterior layer epithelial cells elongated, terminally differentiated fiber that form bulk tissue. FGF signaling has been implicated induction, proliferation, differentiation. To address role FGFs we inactivated receptor‐2 ( Fgfr2 ) using a Cre transgene expressed all prospective embryonic day 9.0. Inactivation...
