A prototype of the Transition Radiation Tracker (TRT) for ATLAS detector at LHC has been built and tested. The TRT is an array straw tubes which integrate tracking electron identification by transition radiation into one device. Results experimental measurements comparisons with Monte-Carlo simulations are presented performance as a function various parameters. Under optimal operating conditions, rejection against pions factor 100 was achieved 90% efficiency.
Metaphase analysis, the micronucleus test, and dominant lethal assay were performed in rodents with cyclophosphamide. The variance results indicated that use of binomial statistics (or Poisson or normal approximations this distribution) would be inappropriate for determination significance. This conclusion was reinforced by finding negative distributions best explained certain aspects data, as well being theoretically more likely. Because there no simple significance test based on some doubt...
The vertex detector front-end electronics are described. It comprises fast analog-to-digital conversion circuits and a programmable track trigger processor. function of the is to examine, within one large electron-positron beam crossing (22 mu s), data generated in for evidence charged particle tracks. Measurements ionization drift times based on gated 93-MHz oscillator synchronized precision crystal clock give points space. axial positions these along found by analyzing difference time...
The ZEUS Central Tracking Detector (CID) is a large, cylindrical, multiwire drift chamber, part of the [ 11, for use on Hadron Electron Ring Accelerator (HERA) at DESY. This paper describes analogue signal path from chamber to point where timing and charge are converted into digital dara. Circuit designs performance measurements m pesentcd. Techniques used achieve required include thick film hybrids, custom integrated circuits, surface mount multilaya printed circuit boasds. system...
A readout system has been designed and built to match the particular requirements of straw detectors used for particle tracking identification by use transition radiation technique. bipolar analogue integrated circuit with very high rate capability two thresholds separate track signals from photon forms front end a complete which is briefly described. The passes discriminated digital data rest via novel three level logic scheme. design expected performance are presented compared results an...
