Several model plants are known to respond bacterial quorum sensing molecules with altered root growth and gene expression patterns induced resistance plant pathogens. These compounds may represent novel elicitors that could be applied as seed primers enhance cereal crop pathogens abiotic stress improve yields. We investigated whether the acyl-homoserine lactone N-hexanoyl-L-homoserine (C6-HSL) impacted winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) germination, development productivity, using two...

The choice of effective biocides used for routine hospital practice should consider the role disinfectants in maintenance and development local resistome how they might affect antibiotic resistance gene transfer within microbial population. Currently, there is little understanding different contribute to eDNA release that may subsequent environmental retention. Here, we investigated from mature biofilms two opportunistic model strains Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853 (PA) Staphylococcus...

Predictive QSAR models for the inhibitors of B. subtilis and Ps. aeruginosa among imidazolium-based ionic liquids were developed using literary data. The regression created through Artificial Neural Network k-nearest neighbor procedures. classification constructed WEKA-RF (random forest) method. predictive ability was tested by fivefold cross-validation; giving q(2) = 0.77-0.92 accuracy 83-88% models. Twenty synthesized samples 1,3-dialkylimidazolium with value activity level antimicrobial...

Four water insoluble room-temperature protic ionic liquids (PILs) based on the N-alkylimidazolium cation with alkyl chain length from 1 to 4 and bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide anion were synthesized their chemical structure was confirmed by 1H NMR 19F analysis. PILs revealed be thermally stable up 360 400 °C. At same time, proton conductivity of found dependent mostly temperature and, a less extent, type cation, i.e., increase ~3 × 10-4 S/cm at 25 °C 2 10-2 150 observed. The vapour...

Abstract This paper investigates thermal transport in a nanocomposite system consisting of porous silicon matrix filled with ionic liquid. Firstly, the conductivity and heat capacity two imidazolium one ammonium liquids were evaluated using photoacoustic approach piezoelectric configuration differential scanning calorimetry, respectively. Then, properties composite "ionic liquid confined inside matrix" investigated gas-microphone configuration. The results demonstrated significant...

Cellulose is a widespread macromolecule in terrestrial environments and major architectural component of microbial biofilm. Therefore, cellulose might be considered biosignature that indicates the presence life. We present, for first time, characteristics bacterial after long-term spaceflight exposure to simuled Mars-like stressors. The pristine cellulose-based pellicle membranes from kombucha community (KMC) were exposed outside International Space Station, their return Earth, samples...

The choice of efficient antimicrobial additives for polyamide resins is very difficult because their high processing temperatures up to 300 °C. In this study, a new, thermally stable polymeric biocide, polyhexamethylene guanidine 2-naphtalenesulfonate (PHMG-NS), was synthesised. According thermogravimetric analysis, PHMG-NS has thermal degradation point 357 °C, confirming its potential use in joint melt with resins. Polyamide 11 (PA-11) films containing 5, 7 and 10 wt% were prepared by...
