It is a challenge to fabricate graphene bulk materials with properties arising from the nature of individual sheets, and which assemble into monolithic three-dimensional structures. Here we report scalable self-assembly randomly oriented sheets additive-free, essentially homogenous sponge that provide combination both cork-like rubber-like properties. These sponges, densities similar air, display Poisson's ratios in all directions are near-zero largely strain-independent during reversible...
The mechanism of grease replenishment in and around a starved point contact was studied this work. Greases made different thickeners same base oil were tested compared. Disappearing re-formation dynamic reservoir during operation revealed that bled to replenish contact. However, the process slow because presence fingers along track thickener-deposited film inside track. angles on chromium-coated surface surfaces measured. Results proved angle deposited remarkably increased compared with from...
In this work, lithium and diurea greases formulated by poly-alpha-olefin were aged up to 1,200 h in an oven at 120°C periodically taken out for testing. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) infrared (IR) spectra proved that both physical chemical degradation occurred during the thermal aging process, such as a decrease apparent viscosity, thickener destruction, change species. Diurea grease showed much better anti-oxidation performance than grease. A dual effect of on lubricity was observed...
Surfaces of gears under combined rolling and sliding motions may suffer a complicated wear process due to the transient time-varying effect along meshing path. In this paper, methodology for predicting tooth surfaces is developed spiral bevel gears. model, machined surface roughness, mixed lubrication, friction, flash temperature dynamic behavior are all considered. Tooth-Contact-Analysis (TCA) method used get parameters points By simulating real movement process, material removed according...
Abstract Water is one of the most significant causes lubrication failure. There little research on direct observation impact water properties. In this study, influence oil replenishment under different elastohydrodynamic (EHD) lubricating conditions evaluated using optical interferometry and infrared microscopy, a dimensionless criterion when influences film thickness proposed. Evidence shows that scour displacing effect emulsification water/oil are main reasons for reduction in thickness....
A methodology for stress-based forming limit analysis has been developed advanced high strength steel (AHSS). It was proposed that localized necking occurs when a critical normal stress condition is met. Using basic, isotropic material model (von Mises, power law hardening), the criterion applied to various 980 Class AHSS. In most cases simplified adequately described experimental strain-based curve (FLC). For AHSS with substantial volume fractions of metastable austenite, more sophisticated...
To simulate the heat and mass transfer in real heterogeneous systems, such as metal-production processes lubrication, point-contact condition with formation of narrowly confined liquid film its surrounding meniscus was constructed to study classical microchannel boiling problem this work. Specifically, evaporation diffusion superheated water water/oil droplet geometry were investigated. The emphasis is put on influence contact-line transport behaviors nucleation bubble dynamics meniscus....
Copper matrix composites reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) were prepared by vacuum hot pressing of ball milled mixtures powders. Two grades GNPs used; one average thickness 2 nm and lateral size 6 [Formula: see text]m another much larger 80 text]m. Microstructure properties as-prepared containing 10 vol.% studied. The sheets are uniformly distributed well aligned in the Cu matrix. microstructure observation shows that GNPs-2–6 exhibits a better dispersion than GNPs-2–80. addition...
The forming limit curve (FLC) has been used to represent the stretchability of sheet metal under various modes. However, formability window in stamping depends not only on material's limit, but also its strain distribution ability. In present work, a total capacity (TFC) index is introduced describe global metals, which accounts for contributions both and ability material during forming. Essentially, this constructed by integrating instantaneous n-value from zero effective material....
