Abstract Background Termites primarily feed on lignocellulose or soil in association with specific gut microbes. The functioning of the termite microbiota is partly understood a handful wood-feeding pest species but remains largely unknown other taxa. We intend to fill this gap and provide global understanding functional evolution microbiota. Results sequenced metagenomes 145 samples representative diversity. show that prokaryotic fraction all termites possesses similar genes for...
Countries in East Asia (EA) have made a great deal of progress integrating their economies since the early 1990s. There has been sustained increase intra-regional trade EA. On finance, however, regional financial integration lagging behind and EA reached out to global markets effect deeper integration. The purpose this paper is analyze effects extra-regional on changes pattern EA's business cycle 1990 see whether there any ground for “decoupling” from United States EU. relations, empirical...
This paper investigates prospects of a currency union in East Asia, focusing on trade and financial integration occurring the region. We find, based dynamic factor model, regional common shocks have been quantitatively important for output variations Asian economies. expect that continuing region will lead to further synchronization business cycles, thereby encouraging countries create In contrast trade, however, liberalization Asia tends more global integration, rather than systems, is not...
Abstract This paper emphasizes the importance of denomination financial assets rather than trade invoicing as a long‐term determinant an international currency. China needs to liberalize and open its system make RMB fully convertible, adopt more flexible exchange rate speed up currency internationalization, for which could follow either global or regional approach. The approach is riskier unpredictable strategy because it would demand scope timeframe liberalization that likely be beyond...

The Korean water deer (WD), a predominant wildlife species in South Korea, is listed as vulnerable by the IUCN Red List. Despite belonging to same family, Cervidae, WD show significantly fewer adult ixodid tick infestations compared roe (RD). Ticks, which cannot fly, engage questing behavior natural environments latch onto hosts. They detect signals like body temperature and host skin chemicals navigate through hair coat preferred epidermis. In light of this, we performed an extensive...
Population structure was investigated in Reticulitermes speratus populations the Korean Peninsula and Japanese Archipelago. All trees derived from analyses of combined sequence dataset two mitochondrial genes, COII COIII, showed that R. cluster into major clades comprising Korean/southern northern populations. Analysis population genetic strong partitioning between clades. To understand historical migration routes current distributions, phylogeographic history inferred intra-/interspecific...
The complete mitochondrial genome of a Korean Ussurian tube-nosed bat, Murina ussuriensis, was determined. M. ussuriensis is 17,285 bp in length with total base composition 33.8% A, 28.9% T, 23.8% C, and 13.4% G. All the protein-coding genes (total 11,401 bp) were encoded H-strand except for ND6 L-strand. 22 tRNA 1516 varying from 62 (tRNA Ser (AGY)) to 74 Leu (UUR) Gln ). 12S rRNA 16S 972 1558 length, respectively. D-loop region 2496 length.
