Bifunctional heterostructures composed of gold nanorods and hematite nanoparticle aggregates are prepared facilely through the hydrothermal decomposition ferric acetylacetonate on surface nanorods. The nanorod in heterostructure is partially coated with aggregates. coating porous. These exhibit both plasmonic superparamagnetic properties. They well-dispersed aqueous solutions.
