In recent times, the searches for alternative materials to plastic is a popular topic, due danger that synthetic cause environment and humans. Among promising natural polymers, chitosan (CS) certainly one of most suitable since it edible, non-toxic derives from crustacean waste.- However, necessary improve its physical properties be widely applied in food packaging, whose market dominated by plastic. this work we have synthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using hot-plate microwaves-based...

We demonstrate that ${\mathrm{CdS}}_{1\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}\mathit{x}}$${\mathrm{Se}}_{\mathit{x}}$ nanocrystals embedded in glass suffer compressive strain which increases as the crystallite radius decreases. A model based on dependence of cluster surface free energy surface-to-volume ratio explains very well observed blueshift phonon bands Raman spectra.

Nowadays, an increasing interest in combinatorial drug delivery systems is emerging, highlighting the possibility of exploiting essential oils (EO) for topical applications. This work aimed at developing nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC) combined ferulic acid and Lavandula EO, whose beneficial effects wound-healing processes have been widely reported. Homogeneous (polydispersity index, PDI < 0.2) nanoparticles with a small size (<150 nm) high encapsulation efficiency (>85%) were obtained....

Abstract. Dust samples from rainfall residues have been collected in southeast Italy (40º 20' N, 18º 6' E) during dust outbreaks occurred April to June 2002 characterize morphological and elemental particle composition by different techniques, investigate the dependence of properties on source regions. Four-day analytical back trajectories satellite images used infer regions investigated samples. It has found that TOMS absorbing aerosol index was range 0.7-2.2 over Southern when collected....

Abstract An alkoxy‐substituted poly(phenylene thiophene) is used in order to suspend single‐walled carbon nanotubes an organic solvent. The suspension spread on the air–water interface of a Langmuir trough and floating film characterized by means Brewster angle microscopy UV‐visible reflection spectroscopy compression isotherm recorded. polymer/carbon‐nanotube blend transferred onto different substrates using Langmuir–Blodgett technique. AFM measurements indicate formation globular...

Background: The loss of nigrostriatal neurons containing dopamine (DA) together with the “mitochondrial dysfunction” in midbrain represent two main causes related to symptoms Parkinson’s disease (PD). Hence, aim this investigation is co-administer missing DA and antioxidant grape seed-derived proanthocyanidins (grape seed extract, GSE) order increase levels neurotransmitter (which unable cross Blood Brain Barrier) reducing oxidative stress (OS) PD, respectively. Methods: For purpose, we...

Abstract Microvesicles (MVs) are large extracellular vesicles differing in size, cargo and composition that share a common mechanism of release from the cells through direct outward budding plasma membrane. They involved variety physiological pathological conditions represent promising biomarkers for diseases. MV heterogeneity together with lack specific markers had strongly hampered development effective methods isolation differential centrifugation remains most used method to purify MVs....

A Gram-negative and obligately anaerobic marine bacterium, strain HAW-EB21(T), was isolated in a previous study from sediment the Atlantic Ocean, near Halifax Harbor, Canada, found to have potential degrade both hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine. In present study, phylogenetic analyses showed that HAW-EB21(T) only distantly related genera Propionigenium Ilyobacter with 6.6-7.5 % 8.2-10.5 dissimilarity as measured by 16S rRNA 23S gene...

The optical properties of non-functionalized silver nanoparticles in ethanol solution have been analyzed and a progressive shift localized surface plasmon resonances caused by the adding increasing quantities glucose has observed. To understand this occurrence, interaction molecules with nanoparticle investigated using Raman spectroscopy. In addition, high resolution transmission electron microscopy shows presence superstructures on that can be imputed to glucose.

Titanium oxide thin films have been deposited by thermal evaporation in vacuum and then analyzed before after a suitable annealing order to test their application NH3 gas-sensing technology. In particular, spectrophotometric conductivity measurements performed determine the optical electrical properties of titanium films. The structure morphology such material investigated high resolution electron microscopy small area diffraction.
