We present the results of a clinicopathologic study 109 patients with endometrial stromal sarcoma and eight nodule. Of sarcoma, follow-up was obtained on 93 (85%). The stage distribution number (numerator) compared to total in each (denominator) are: Stage 1, 73/85; II, 3/6; III, 11/11; IV, 6/7. II are considered separately analysis. Thirty-six percent I experienced one or more relapses. these, six (23%) died disease from 11 360 months diagnosis (median, 79 months). Nine (35%) were alive...
CD43 expression on B cells is an immunophenotypic feature suggestive of malignancy. In the light its diagnostic importance, we performed a comprehensive survey in various types non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and determined frequency routinely fixed paraffin-embedded tissues. Tissue sections 742 cases NHL, pretreated by heat-induced epitope retrieval technique, were immunostained using anti-CD43 antibody. Three categories positivity found: (1) more than 90% T-cell lymphoma, mantle cell B-cell...
Immunophenotyping has become common in the diagnosis and classification of acute leukemias is particularly important proper identification cases minimally differentiated myeloid leukemia (AML-MO). To evaluate immunophenotype adult AML, 106 were studied by cytochemical analysis flow cytometry with a panel 22 antibodies. The results compared French-American-British (FAB) Cooperative Group classification, as well available cytogenetic data on each case. CD45, CD33, CD13 most commonlyexpressed...
Purpose Therapy-related myelodysplasia or acute myelogenous leukemia (t-MDS/AML) is a lethal complication of autologous hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation (aHCT) for Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) and non-Hodgkin's (NHL). Here, we investigated the hypothesis that accelerated telomere shortening after aHCT could contribute to development t-MDS/AML. Patients Methods A prospective longitudinal cohort was constructed investigate sequence cellular molecular abnormalities leading t-MDS/AML HL/NHL....
Abstract BACKGROUND To retrospectively evaluate the significance of morphologic examination and ancillary studies performed on bilateral bone marrow biopsy specimens, 1864 samples were studied. METHODS Bilateral specimens included 883 that evaluated for involvement by non‐Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL); 381 carcinoma (CA); 362 Hodgkin disease (HD); 94 sarcoma (SA); 56 multiple myeloma (MM); 53 acute chronic leukemia, myelodysplasia, and/or myeloproliferative disorders (LEUK); 35 other reasons....
We present the results of a clinicopathologic study 20 patients with primary extrauterine endometrial stromal sarcoma (ESS). The sites neoplasm and number sufficient follow-up for survival analysis are as follows: ovary (three four), fallopian tube (one one), pelvic cavity (six eight), abdominal (five six), retroperitoneum one). Evaluation all included mitotic index (MI) cytologic atypia. Thirteen sixteen eligible had tumors an MI < 10 would be classified low-grade sarcomas in Morris Taylor...
In quest of new, single-site catalysts for cyclic ester polymerizations, a series mononuclear yttrium(III) complexes N,N′-bis(trimethylsilyl)benzamidinate ([LTMS]−) and hindered N,N′-bis-(2,6-dialkylaryl)toluamidinates ([LEt]−, aryl = Et2C6H3, [LiPr]−, iPr2C6H3) were synthesized characterized by X-ray diffraction: LY(μ-Cl)2Li(TMEDA) (1), LY(OC6H2tBu2Me) (2), LY(OC6H3Me2)2Li(THF)4 (3), LY(μ-OtBu)2Li(THF) (4), LiPrY[N(SiMe2H)2]2(THF) (5), LY(THF)(Cl)(μ-Cl)Li(THF)3 (6), LY[N(SiMe2H)2] (7)....
Dynamics of fluorescent diamond nanoparticles in HeLa cells has been studied with two-photon fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS). Fluorescent nanodiamond (FND) is an excellent probe for bioimaging application, but they are often trapped endosomes after cellular uptake. The entrapment prohibits FCS from being performed a time frame 60 s. Herein, we show that the encapsulation FNDs within lipid layer enhances diffusion particles cytoplasm by more than one order magnitude, and as small...
Primary T-cell anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (ALCL) of the breast is a rare entity, which has been reported in association with implants. In retrospective analysis City Hope pathology database, we uncovered nine such patients, eight whom had implants proximal to primary ALCL. The diagnosis ALCL implant capsule occurred at median 7 years (range 5–30) following surgery, and patient age was 45.5 32–62). Malignancy effusion-associated two cases tissue-associated six. Seven patients were...
A crucial step in creating reliable vitro platforms for neural development and disorder studies is the reproduction of multicellular three-dimensional (3D) brain microenvironment capturing cell-cell interactions within model. The power self-organization diverse cell types into spheroids could be harnessed to study mechanisms underlying trajectory diseases. challenge current 3D organoid spheroid models grown petri-dishes lack control over cellular localization diversity. To overcome this...
Undifferentiated carcinoma of the nasopharynx has a well-known association with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), but only an inconsistent relationship been identified in undifferentiated carcinomas occurring at other sites. We investigated 22 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded cases sinonasal (SNUCs) Western and Asian patients. A highly sensitive situ hybridization method was performed using antisense oligonucleotide probe to EBER1 gene EBV. EBV RNA seven 11 SNUCs from patients, none SNUC patients...
Abstract Background Application of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIOs) as the contrast agent has improved quality magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. Low efficiency loading commercially available into cells and cytotoxicity previously formulated complexes limit their usage image probe. Here, we new cationic lipid containing SPIOs feasible for in vivo Methods Hydrophobic were incorporated 1,2-dioleoyl-3-(trimethylammonium) propane (DOTAP)...
Optomotor response/reflex (OMR) assays are emerging as a powerful and versatile tool for phenotypic study new drug discovery eye brain disorders. Yet efficient OMR assessment visual performance in mice remains challenge. Existing testing devices require lengthy procedure may be subject to bias due use of artificial criteria. We developed an optimized staircase protocol that utilizes mouse head pausing behavior novel indicator the absence OMR, allow rapid unambiguous vision assessment. It...
As the general population ages, more people are affected by eye diseases, such as retinopathies. It is therefore critical to improve imaging of disease mouse models. Here, we demonstrate that 1) rapid, quantitative 3D and 4D (time lapse) cellular subcellular processes in feasible, with without tissue clearing, using light-sheet fluorescent microscopy (LSFM); 2) flat-mounting retinas for confocal significantly distorts morphology, confirmed correlative LSFM-Confocal vessels; 3) LSFM readily...
Non-invasive electrical stimulation (ES) is increasingly applied to improve vision in untreatable eye conditions, such as retinitis pigmentosa and age-related macular degeneration. Our previous study suggested that ES promoted retinal function the proliferation of progenitor-like glial cells mice with inherited photoreceptor degeneration; however, underlying mechanism remains obscure. Müller (MCs) are thought be dormant residential progenitor possess a high potential for neuron repair...
