The authors explored the relationship between counseling trainees' emotional intelligence (EI), empathy, stress, distress, and demographics. Results indicated that higher levels of EI were associated with lower stress affective cognitive age. These findings suggest curricular integration potential utility measures to evaluate students' progress throughout program.
The authors examined whether Jyoti meditation (JM), a spiritually based (Singh, ), influenced student counselors' ( N = 60) level of stress and emotional intelligence (EI). Results from randomized controlled trial growth curve analysis provided multilevel model in which JM reduced EI moderated the effect.
Support for meditation is found across academic communities and popular culture.
