We present a study of the radiation field at various locations in ATLAS experiment, using compact detector systems based on pixelated silicon sensors assembled with Timepix readout chips. The hodoscope design ATLAS-Timepix (TPX) detectors includes neutron converters between two sensors, allowing characterization both and charged particle fields track by basis. Thermal fast neutrons are discriminated segmenting sensor area dedicated sensitive materials. Using specific pattern recognition...

Direct conversion semiconductor detectors have become an indispensable tool in radiation detection by now. In order to obtain a high efficiency, especially when detecting X or γ rays, high-Z sensors are necessary.
