Many models of physics beyond the Standard Model predict existence new Abelian forces with gauge bosons mediating interactions between "dark sectors" and Model. We report a search for dark boson Z' coupling only to second third generations leptons in reaction e+e- -> mu+mu- Z', using 514 fb-1 data collected by BABAR experiment. No significant signal is observed masses range 0.212 - 10 GeV. Limits on parameter g' as low 7x10^-4 are derived, leading improvements bounds compared those...
The present report documents the results of Working Group 2: B, D and K decays, workshop on Flavor in Era LHC, held at CERN from November 2005 through March 2007. With advent we will be able to probe New Physics (NP) up energy scales almost one order magnitude larger than it has been possible with accelerator facilities. While direct detection new particles main avenue establish presence NP indirect searches provide precious complementary information, since most probably not measure full...

Abstract The ProtoDUNE-SP detector is a single-phase liquid argon time projection chamber (LArTPC) that was constructed and operated in the CERN North Area at end of H4 beamline. This prototype for first far module Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE), which will be Sandford Research Facility (SURF) Lead, South Dakota, U.S.A. incorporates full-size components as designed DUNE has an active volume 7 × 6 7.2 m 3 . beam delivers incident particles with well-measured momenta high-purity...
Abstract The ATLAS experiment is constructing new all-silicon inner tracking system for HL-LHC. strip detectors cover the radial extent of 40 to 100 cm. A approach adopted use p-type silicon material, making readout in n + -strips, so-called -in-p sensors. This allows enhanced radiation tolerance against an order magnitude higher particle fluence compared LHC. To cope with varying hit rates and occupancies as a function distance, there are two barrel sensor types, short strips (SS) 2 long...
Detecting low dose rates of X-rays is critical for making safer radiology instruments, but limited by the absorber materials available. Here, we develop bismuth oxyiodide (BiOI) single crystals into effective X-ray detectors. BiOI features complex lattice dynamics, owing to ionic character and weak van der Waals interactions between layers. Through use ultrafast spectroscopy, first-principles computations detailed optical structural characterisation, show that photoexcited charge-carriers in...
We search for the rare flavor-changing neutral current process $B^{+}\rightarrow K^{+}τ^{+}τ^{-}$ using data from BABAR experiment. The sample, collected at center-of-mass energy of $Υ{(4S)}$ resonance, corresponds to a total integrated luminosity 424 fb$^{-1}$ and 471 million $B\overline{B}$ pairs. reconstruct one $B$ meson, produced in $Υ{(4S)}\rightarrow B^{+} B^{-}$ decay, many hadronic decay modes activity compatible with K^{+} τ^{+}τ^{-}$ rest event. Each $τ$ lepton is required...
MoEDAL is designed to identify new physics in the form of stable or pseudostable highly ionizing particles produced high-energy Large Hadron Collider (LHC) collisions. Here we update our previous search for magnetic monopoles Run 2 using full trapping detector with almost four times more material and twice integrated luminosity. For first time at LHC, data were interpreted terms photon-fusion monopole direct production addition Drell-Yan-like mechanism. The detector, consisting 794 kg...
We update the analysis of D meson mixing including latest experimental results as January 2014. derive constraints on parameters M 12, Γ12 and Φ12 that describe using all available data, allowing for CP violation. also provide posterior distributions observable appearing in physics.
We update our previous search for trapped magnetic monopoles in LHC Run 2 using nearly six times more integrated luminosity and including additional models the interpretation of data. The MoEDAL forward trapping detector, comprising 222 kg aluminium samples, was exposed to 2.11 fb−1 13 TeV proton–proton collisions near LHCb interaction point analysed by searching induced persistent currents after passage through a superconducting magnetometer. Magnetic charges equal Dirac charge or above are...
An angular analysis of the decay ${\overline{B} \rightarrow D^\ast \ell^- \overline{\nu}_\ell}$, $\ell\in\{e,\mu\}$, is reported using full $e^+e^-$ collision data set collected by \babar experiment at $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance. One $B$ meson from ${\Upsilon(4S)\to B\overline{B}}$ fully reconstructed in a hadronic mode, which constrains kinematics and provides determination neutrino momentum vector. The semileptonic described di-lepton mass squared, $q^2$, three angles. first unbinned fit to...
This search for magnetic monopoles (MMs) and high electric charge objects (HECOs) with spins 0, 1/2, 1, uses the first time full MoEDAL detector, exposed to 6.46 fb^{-1} proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV. The results are interpreted in terms of Drell-Yan photon-fusion pair production. Mass limits on direct production MMs up 10 Dirac charges HECOs range 10e 400e, were achieved. placed MM HECO currently strongest world. is only LHC experiment capable being directly calibrated highly ionizing...
Abstract Targeting a peak luminosity of 6 × 10 35 cm -2 s -1 , the Belle II experiment at SuperKEKB in Japan is considering an upgrade its interaction region. This involves vertex detector, which will be replaced by new fully pixelated detector (VTX). A monolithic CMOS pixel sensor named OBELIX (Optimized BELle pIXel) proposed to used VTX. Based on existing TJ-Monopix2 chip initially developed for ATLAS Inner Tracker (ITk) upgrade, designed 180 nm process with improved matrix and additional...
We study the process $e^+e^- \to \pi^+\pi^-\eta \gamma$, where photon is radiated from initial state. About 8000 fully reconstructed events of this are selected BaBar data sample with an integrated luminosity 469~fb$^{-1}$. Using $\pi^+\pi^-\eta$ invariant mass spectrum we measure \pi^+\pi^-\eta$ cross section in $e^+e^-$ center-of-mass energy range 1.15 to 3.5 GeV. The well described by Vector-Meson Dominance model four $\rho$-like states. observe $49\pm9$ $J/\psi$ decay $\pi^+\pi^-\eta$,...
A study of the two-body decays B^{±}→X_{cc[over ¯]}K^{±}, where X_{cc[over ¯]} refers to one charmonium state, is reported by BABAR Collaboration using a data sample 424 fb^{-1}. The absolute determination branching fractions for these are significantly improved compared previous measurements. Evidence found decay B^{+}→X(3872)K^{+} at 3σ level. fraction B[B^{+}→X(3872)K^{+}]=[2.1±0.6(stat)±0.3(syst)]×10^{-4} measured first time. It follows that B[X(3872)→J/ψπ^{+}π^{-}]=(4.1±1.3)%,...
