The thiazolidinediones are novel insulin sensitizers that serve as orally active antidiabetic agents, in rodents, nonhuman primates, and man. We have examined the effects of 4-week oral administration three (AD-5075, BRL 49653, CS-045) on plasma glucose triglyceride concentrations obese hyperglycemic db/db mice. All agents lower concentrations. Normal levels achieved after treatment with AD-5075 (> 1.7 mg/kg) or 49653 = 30 mg/kg), whereas CS-045 (100 300 produces only modest reductions...

The reconstruction of genetic networks in mammalian systems is one the primary goals biological research, especially as such reconstructions relate to elucidating not only common, polygenic human diseases, but living more generally. Here we propose a novel gene network algorithm, derived from classic Bayesian methods, that utilizes naturally occurring variations source perturbations elucidate network. This algorithm incorporates relative transcript abundance and genotypic data segregating...

We propose an experiment (Mu3e) to search for the lepton flavour violating decay mu+ -> e+e-e+. aim ultimate sensitivity of one in 10^16 mu-decays, four orders magnitude better than previous searches. This is made possible by exploiting modern silicon pixel detectors providing high spatial resolution and hodoscopes using scintillating fibres tiles precise timing information at particle rates.

The X(1835), which was previously observed by BESII, confirmed with statistical significance that larger than 20σ. In addition, π(+)π(-)η(') invariant-mass spectrum, X(2120) X(2370), are significances 7.2σ 6.4σ, respectively. For angular distribution radiative photon consistent expectations for pseudoscalar.
