This article reports world averages of measurements $b$-hadron, $c$-hadron, and $\tau$-lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavor Averaging Group using results available through summer 2016. For averaging, common input parameters used in various analyses are adjusted (rescaled) to values, known correlations taken into account. The include branching fractions, lifetimes, neutral meson mixing parameters, \CP~violation semileptonic decays CKM matrix elements.
This work is on the Physics of B Factories. Part A this book contains a brief description SLAC and KEK Factories as well their detectors, BaBar Belle, data taking related issues. discusses tools methods used by experiments in order to obtain results. The results themselves can be found C. Please note that version 3 archive auxiliary book. uses notation alpha, beta, gamma for angles Unitarity Triangle. nominal phi_1, phi_2 phi_3. cite Eur. Phys. This chapter of the report "Flavor in era LHC" Workshop discusses theoretical, phenomenological and experimental issues related to flavor phenomena charged lepton sector conserving CP-violating processes. We review current limits main theoretical models for structure fundamental particles. analyze consequences available data, setting constraints on explicit beyond standard model, presenting benchmarks discovery potential forthcoming measurements both at LHC low energy, exploring options...
This article reports world averages for measurements of b-hadron, c-hadron, and tau-lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavor Averaging Group (HFAG) using results available at least through end 2009. Some presented use data spring 2010. For averaging, common input parameters used in various analyses are adjusted (rescaled) to values, known correlations taken into account. The include branching fractions, lifetimes, neutral meson mixing parameters, CP violation semileptonic decays.
This paper reports world averages of measurements $b$-hadron, $c$-hadron, and $\tau$-lepton properties obtained by the Heavy Flavour Averaging Group using results available before April 2021. In rare cases, significant several months later are also used. For averaging, common input parameters used in various analyses adjusted (rescaled) to values, known correlations taken into account. We provide a review of the status experimental searches for lepton flavor violation involving electrons, muons, and tau leptons. Future programs are discussed placed in context theories beyond standard model.
The calculational precision of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\tau}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ and ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\mu}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ production cross sections in electron-positron annihilations at $\sqrt{s}=10.58\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$ is studied for the $\mathtt{K}\mathtt{K}\mathtt{M}\mathtt{C}$ Monte Carlo simulation program, modified to include contributions...
Belle II is an experiment operating at the intensity frontier. Over next decades, it will record decay of billions bottom mesons, charm hadrons, and tau leptons produced in 10 GeV electron-positron collisions SuperKEKB high-luminosity collider KEK. These data, collected low-background kinematically known conditions, allow us to measure hundreds parameters that test standard model (SM) probe for existence new particles, mass scales orders magnitudes higher than those studied energy We project...
If physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM) explains $4.2\ensuremath{\sigma}$ difference between and measured muon anomalous magnetic moment ${a}_{\ensuremath{\mu}}$, minimal flavor violation predicts a shift in analog quantity for $\ensuremath{\tau}$ lepton ${a}_{\ensuremath{\tau}}$ at ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}6}$ level, even larger effects are possible generic BSM scenarios such as leptoquarks. We show that this produces equivalent deviations Pauli form factor ${F}_{2}(s)$ $s=(10\text{ }\text{...
Data from high-energy physics (HEP) experiments are collected with significant financial and human effort mostly unique. An inter-experimental study group on HEP data preservation long-term analysis was convened as a panel of the International Committee for Future Accelerators (ICFA). The formed by large collider-based investigated technical organisational aspects preservation. intermediate report released in November 2009 addressing general issues HEP. Upgrading the SuperKEKB electron-positron collider with polarized electron beams opens a new program of precision physics at center-of-mass energy 10.58 GeV. This white paper describes potential this `Chiral Belle' program. It includes projections for measurements $\sin^2\theta_W$ that can be obtained from independent left-right asymmetry $e^+e^-$ transitions to pairs electrons, muons, taus, charm and b-quarks. The obtainable will match LEP/SLC world average, but centre-of-mass Measurements...
We update the extraction of V us from hadronic τ decay data in light recent BaBar and Belle results on branching fractions a number important strange modes. A range sum rule analyses is employed, particular attention being paid to those based “non-spectral weights”, developed previously bring slow convergence relevant integrated D = 2 OPE series under improved control. Results various rules are good agreement with one another, but ~ 3σ below expectations 3-family unitarity.
The current trend towards higher resolution positron emission tomography (PET) requires the development of small but efficient detectors. This paper presents initial characterization a detector composed four equally spaced, 4.5mm wide bismuth germanate (BGO) crystals coupled to face Hamamatsu R1548 dual photomultiplier tube (PMT). intrinsic optical cross talk between two segments PMT exhibits spatial dependence that has been exploited for crystal identification. Misidentification due...
