A technique is presented for interpolating unsteady solutions to parameterised fluid flow problems, using a combination of proper orthogonal decomposition and radial basis functions. The validated by considering simulations involving three dimensional compressible inviscid over an oscillating ONERA M6 wing. It demonstrated that the approach can result in large reduction cpu time required find at new parameter values, without significant loss accuracy.

Proteomics analysis of biofluid-derived vesicles holds enormous potential for discovering non-invasive disease markers. Obtaining sufficient quality and quantity profiling studies has, however, been a major problem, as samples are often replete with co-isolated material that can interfere the identification genuine low abundance, vesicle components. Here, we used combination ultracentrifugation size-exclusion chromatography to isolate analyse plasma or urine origin. We describe...

SUMMARY A new mesh optimisation scheme, reduced order optimisation, is introduced. The technique uses proper orthogonal decomposition to reduce the number of dimensions in a problem. This reduction dimensionality allows expression problem globally rather than more traditional local or smoothing algorithms. To perform recently developed gradient‐free modified cuckoo search applied. effectiveness algorithm shown by considering optimising meshes for use co‐volume techniques. Co‐volume...

This study aimed to identify the continuous ground reaction force (GRF) features which contribute higher levels of block phase performance. Twenty-three sprint-trained athletes completed starts from their preferred settings during GRFs were recorded separately under each block. Continuous magnitude and direction resultant GRF signals explained 90% variation between sprinters identified. Each sprinter's coefficient score for these was then input a linear regression model predict performance...

In this paper, an optimisation procedure is introduced that uses a significantly cheaper, and CFD-free, objective function for aerodynamic than conventional CFD-driven approaches. Despite the reduced computational cost, we show approach can still drive scheme towards design with similar reduction in drag coefficient wave drag-dominated problems. The used ‘CFD-free’, i.e., it does not require any analysis. It be applied to geometries discretised using meshes more conventionally ‘standard’...
