MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are endogenous noncoding RNAs, which negatively regulate gene expression. To determine genomewide miRNA DNA copy number abnormalities in cancer, 283 known human genes were analyzed by high-resolution array-based comparative genomic hybridization 227 ovarian breast and melanoma specimens. A high proportion of loci containing exhibited alterations cancer (37.1%), (72.8%), (85.9%), where observed >15% tumors considered significant for each gene. We identified 41 with changes...

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are an abundant class of small noncoding RNAs that function as negative gene regulators. miRNA deregulation is involved in the initiation and progression human cancer; however, underlying mechanism its contributions to genome-wide transcriptional changes cancer still largely unknown. We studied epithelial ovarian by integrative genomic approach, including microarray (n = 106), array-based comparative hybridization 109), cDNA 76), tissue array 504). expression markedly...

Spider silk fibers have remarkable mechanical properties that suggest the component proteins could be useful biopolymers for fabricating biomaterial scaffolds tissue formation. Two bioengineered protein variants from consensus sequence of major dragline Nephila clavipes were cloned and expressed to include RGD cell-binding domains. The engineered silks characterized by CD FTIR showed structural transitions random coil insoluble β-sheet upon treatment with methanol. recombinant processed into...

We reported that the class I HDAC inhibitor entinostat induced apoptosis in erbB2-overexpressing breast cancer cells via downregulation of erbB2 and erbB3. Here, we study molecular mechanism by which dual-targets erbB2/erbB3. Treatment with had no effect on erbB2/erbB3 mRNA, suggesting a transcription-independent mechanism. Entinostat decreased endogenous but not exogenous erbB2/erbB3, indicating it did alter their protein stability. hypothesized might inhibit translation specific miRNAs....

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality in world. Late diagnosis one most significant reasons for high rate cancer. The identification microRNAs (miRNAs) has opened a new field molecular purpose present study was to investigate whether plasma miRNAs may be used as biomarkers early-stage NSCLC. A total 232 participants, including 149 NSCLC patients and 83 healthy controls, were recruited between July 2012 May 2014. We measured levels 10 (miR-30d,...

Abstract Mutations in BRCA1 and BRCA2 account for a significant proportion of hereditary breast cancers. Earlier studies have shown that inherited sporadic tumors progress along different somatic genetic pathways global gene expression profiles distinguish between these groups. To determine whether genomic similarly discriminate among BRCA1, BRCA2, tumors, we established DNA copy number using comparative hybridization to BAC-clone microarrays providing <1 Mb resolution. Tumor was...
