We aimed to assess the frequency of acute kidney injury (AKI) in different areas under concentration-time curve (AUC) values vancomycin (VAN) using a two-point blood collection method, allowing for accurate AUC assessment critically ill patients. This multicenter retrospective observational study was conducted eight hospitals. retrospectively analyzed data patients who had received VAN an intensive care unit (ICU) between January 2020 and December 2022. The primary outcome incidence AKI....

Abstract Background Tebipenem (TBPM) and faropenem (FRPM) have been proposed as effective treatments for urinary tract infections caused by ESBL-producing Enterobacterales. However, appropriate dosage according to renal function needs be considered. This study utilized PK/PD analysis investigate the optimal dosage. Methods Monte Carlo simulation using model of Nakashima et al, 2009 TBPM Hirooka al. 2005, FRPM generated blood concentration profiles 1000 cases stratified function. The dose...

Abstract Background Population pharmacokinetic (PPK) models of vancomycin (VCM) commonly use creatinine clearance (CLcr) as a covariate for (CL). However, relying on CLcr in patients advanced age may lead to inaccuracies estimating VCM clearance. Therefore, this study aimed develop and validate new PPK model specifically aged 75 years older. Methods analysis was performed based the blood concentrations ( n = 159 patients). The predictive performance developed compared with that previous...

Letermovir (LET) is a novel antiviral agent recently approved for cytomegalovirus (CMV) prophylaxis of renal transplant patients in Japan. However, its interactions with tacrolimus (TAC), an important immunosuppressant, remain ambiguous, warranting careful evaluation considering the unique genetic and physiological characteristics Japanese patients. Therefore, this study, we aimed to investigate drug–drug between LET extended-release TAC (ER-TAC) via physiologically based pharmacokinetic...

Under the Japanese health insurance system, medicines undergoing therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) can be billed for medical fees if they meet specified requirements. In Japan, TDM of vancomycin, teicoplanin, aminoglycosides, and voriconazole, which are used treatment infectious diseases, is common practice. This means levels antimicrobial agents measured in-house using chromatography. review describes personalized medicine based on use chromatography as a result current situation in Japan.
