Although abscisic acid (ABA) is an important hormone that regulates seed dormancy, stomatal closure, plant development, as well responses to environmental stimuli, the physiological mechanisms of ABA response multiple stress in rice remain poorly understood. In biosynthetic pathway, 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase (NCED) key rate-limiting enzyme. Here, we report functions OsNCED3 multi-abiotic tolerance rice. The Hengduan Mountains (HDM) biodiversity hotspot exhibits exceptional alpine plant diversity. Here, we investigate factors driving intraspecific divergence within a HDM species Salix brachista (Cushion willow), common component of subnival assemblages. We produce high-quality genome assembly for this and characterize its genetic diversity, population structure pattern evolution by resequencing individuals collected across distribution. detect that has been shaped landscape isolated sky...

Globally, bladder cancer is the tenth most common cancer. Mitophagy, a critical process regulating mitochondrial quantity and quality, has attracted increasing attention for its pivotal function in Nonetheless, roles underlying mechanisms are yet to be elucidated. Therefore, this study, 16 mitophagy-related genes were screened construct robust prognostic model with exceptional predictive accuracy outcomes of patients Of these genes, DARS2 was identified as key regulator that significantly...

Chloroplast genomes of plants are highly conserved in both gene order and content. Analysis the whole chloroplast genome is known to provide much more informative DNA sites thus generates high resolution for plant phylogenies. Here, we report complete three Salix species family Salicaceae. Phylogeny Salicaceae inferred from generally consistent with previous studies but resolved higher statistical support. Incongruences phylogeny, however, observed genus Populus, which most likely results...

Foxtail millet (Setaria italica L.) is a vital cereal food crop with promising development and utilization potential because of its outstanding ability to resist drought stress. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying stress resistance remain unclear. In this study, we aimed elucidate function 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase gene, SiNCED1, in response foxtail millet. Expression pattern analysis showed that SiNCED1 expression was significantly induced by abscisic acid (ABA), osmotic...

Gene duplication is increasingly recognized as an important mechanism for the origination of new genes, revealed by comparative genomic analysis. However, how duplicate genes contribute to phenotypic evolution remains largely unknown, especially in plants. Here, we identified gene EXOV, derived from a partial its parental EXOVL Arabidopsis thaliana. EXOV species-specific that originated within last 3.5 million years and shows strong signals positive selection. Unexpectedly, RNA-sequencing...

Abstract Ion Torrent Personal Genome Machine (PGM) technology is a mid-length read, low-cost and high-speed next-generation sequencing platform with relatively high insertion deletion (indel) error rate. A full systematic assessment of the effectiveness various correction algorithms in PGM viral datasets (e.g., hepatitis B virus (HBV)) has not been performed. We examined 19 quality-trimmed for HBV reverse transcriptase (RT) region found total rate 0.48% ± 0.12%. Deletion errors were clearly...

Low-light-stress is a common meteorological disaster that can result in slender seedlings. The photoreceptors play crucial role perceiving and regulating plants' tolerance to low-light-stress. However, the low-light-stress of cucumber has not been effectively evaluated, functions these photoreceptor genes cucumber, particularly under conditions, are clear.

The genus Salix is a common component of the Northern Hemisphere dendroflora with important ecological and economic value. However, taxonomy systematics extremely difficult relationships between main lineages, especially deep phylogenies, remain largely unresolved. In this study, we used genome-skimming, plastome assembly, single-copy orthologs (SCOs) from 66 accessions, along publicly available sequence read archive (SRA) datasets to obtain robust backbone phylogeny Salix, clarify its gain...
