Background The Hepatitis C virus (HCV) core protein has been implicated as a potential oncogene or cofactor in HCV-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but the underlying mechanisms are unknown. Overactivation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling is major factor oncogenesis HCC. However, pathogenesis HCV core-associated activation remains to be further characterized. Therefore, we attempted determine whether plays an important role regulating HCC cells. Methodology activity was investigated...

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most deadly cancers. Aberrant oncogenic activation Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway contributes to hepatocellular carcinogenesis. Various epigenetic modifications Wnt antagonist secreted frizzled-related protein (SFRP) family have been implicated in regulating signaling. Here, we report that Hepatitis C virus (HCV) core downregulates SFRP1 expression when it expressed Huh7 and HepG2 cells. can be effectively restored by using either a DNA...

Secreted frizzled-related proteins (SFRPs) are antagonists of the Wnt signaling pathway whose epigenetic downregulation have been shown to be involved in hepatocarcinogenesis. However, dysregulation SFRPs induced by hepatitis B virus (HBV) X protein (HBx) has never studied HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV-HCC). In this study, we sought determine clinical significance and underlying mechanism HBx-induced hepatoma cells HBV-HCC patients. Our results showed that SFRP1 SFRP5 expression...

Abstract Several species of soil free‐living saprotrophs can sometimes establish biotrophic symbiosis with plants, but the basic biology this association remains largely unknown. Here, we investigate symbiotic interaction between a common saprotroph, Clitopilus hobsonii (Agaricomycetes), and American sweetgum ( Liquidambar styraciflua ). The colonized root cortical cells were found to contain numerous microsclerotia‐like structures. Fungal colonization led increased plant growth facilitated...

Soil salinity caused by NaCl is a major challenge to agricultural crops worldwide. For this, two WRKY transcription factors were evaluated for their role in salt stress tolerance tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum; Sl). SlWRKY36 and SlWRKY51 provided novel insight into the regulatory mechanism against via virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS). Salt significantly reduced chlorophyll-a, an abundant form of chlorophyll content 6.0 5.1 mg/g proline 0.06 0.09 respectively silenced plants. This...

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as pivotal regulators in plant immune responses, yet their roles rice resistance against Magnaporthe oryzae (M. oryzae) remain inadequately explored. In this study, we integrated translatome data with conventional genome annotations to construct an optimized protein-coding dataset. Subsequently, developed a robust pipeline (“RiceLncRNA”) for the accurate identification of lncRNAs. Using strand-specific RNA sequencing (ssRNA-seq) from resistant...

Fusarium species, recognised as global priority pathogens, frequently induce severe diseases in crops; however, certain species exhibit alternative symbiotic lifestyles and are either non-pathogenic or endophytic. In this study, we characterised the mutualistic relationship between eFp isolate of F. pseudograminearum five poplar resulting formation root structures reminiscent ectomycorrhizal (ECM) symbiosis. This functional symbiosis is evidenced by enhanced plant growth, reciprocal nutrient...

Potato is one of the highly consumed vegetable crop grown in different regions across Pakistan that affected by fungal diseases. The current research was conducted to identify pathogen causing mold-like disease potato Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan. Genus Fusarium (Ascomycota, Hypocreales, Nectriaceae) includes many economically important plant pathogens that cause devastating diseases of a wide range crops and trees. Interestingly, there is increasing evidence some species also live as endophytes benefit growth stress tolerance. Symbiotic association Rhizobium astragali with barley roots was induced by a permanent magnetic field. Initially root hairs were deformed. Later, pseudonodules formed, showing infected cells infection threads, and bacteroids each enclosed within peribacteroid membrane. The overall picture is similar to that of legume nodules. No acetylene reduction activity could be detected in pseudonodules.
