Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) or sham was given over the motor cortex daily for 10 days to two randomly assigned groups of 26 patients with acute ischemic stroke. Patients otherwise continued their normal treatment. Disability scales measured before rTMS, at end last rTMS session, and later showed that real improved patients9 scores more than sham.
We compared the effect of different frequencies repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) (1 Hz, 10 25 Hz and sham (occipital, 1 Hz)), given daily over left temporoparietal cortex for 2 weeks, on 66 patients with chronic tinnitus randomly divided into four treatment groups. Patients were assessed using Tinnitus Handicap Inventory, self-ratings symptoms audiometric measures residual inhibition before, immediately after weeks' monthly thereafter 4 consecutive months. There no...
Objectives: To assess the long-term analgesic effect of repetitive transcranial stimulation (rTMS) on chronic phantom pain using high frequency and to measure serum beta-endorphin level pre- post-rTMS. Material methods: The study included 27 patients with unilateral amputation; all had pain. were classified into two groups. Seventeen received 10 minutes real rTMS over hand area motor cortex (20 Hz, second trains, intensity 80% threshold) every day for five consecutive days sham stimulation....
Infertility is a big health problem worldwide. Few data exist on infertility in Sudan.A descriptive study was conducted to assess the pattern and causes of among couples (800) attending University Khartoum Fertility Centre, Saad Abualila Teaching Hospital Khartoum, Sudan. The socio-demographic characteristics patients, type whether primary or secondary were extracted from medical files retrospectively. The mean (SD) age females 32.4 (7.4) years while that males 37.5 (7.2) years. duration...
Background and Aim: Few comprehensive epidemiological studies of the prevalence tinnitus have been undertaken, none has carried out in Egypt. Abstract Background Significant analgesic effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation ( rTMS ) have been found in several studies patients with chronic pain various origins, but never for malignancy. The objective this study was to assess the efficacy 10 sessions over primary motor cortex M 1) suffering from malignant neuropathic pain. Methods Thirty‐four were randomly allocated into one two groups receive real (20 Hz, s, trains 80% intensity) or sham daily consecutive days....
Abstract Background Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a global health problem associated with significant morbidity during reproductive age. Only few published studies that address the clinical manifestations and phenotypic presentation of disease have been conducted in Africa, including Sudan. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate biochemical different PCOS phenotypes among infertile Sudanese women. Methods A cross-sectional, descriptive was from January December 2019. total 368 women (based...

This was conducted to determine prevalence associated factors symptoms adolescent schoolchildren northern Sudan.A school‑based cross‑sectional from July September 2022 students (aged 10-19 years) four public primary secondary schools Almatamah...
ABSTRACT Background and Purpose The neurophysiological characteristics of motor cortex have been well characterized in patients with Huntington's disease. We present the first data on cortical excitability Sydenham's chorea. Methods Motor was examined using transcranial magnetic stimulation 16 early clinical stages chorea 17 age‐ sex‐matched control subjects. Investigations included resting active threshold, evoked potential, input–output curves, contralateral silent period, transcallosal...
Trimester specific reference ranges of hematological indices were described in several populations; however, comparable reports among Sudanese women with normal pregnancy are lacking. To evaluate trimester pattern change and profile pregnancy, we followed 143 singleton gestation since early until the third Saad Abu-Alela Hospital, Khartoum, Sudan, during period January-December 2015. Obstetrics medical history was gathered using questionnaire investigated hemo-analyser. The first, second...
Previous published studies have reported conflicting results of association between hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection and preeclampsia. There was no data on HBV preeclampsia in Africa including Sudan. The aim the present study to investigate HBsAg seropositivity A case –controls (200 women each arm) conducted at Saad Abualila Maternity Hospital, Khartoum, cases were with controls healthy pregnant women. Socio-demographic characteristics gathered using questionnaire investigated an ELISA....
To investigate blood groups and the other possible risk factors for preeclampsia among Sudanese women.A case - control study was conducted at Saad Abualila Hospital, Khartoum, Sudan during period of July 2013 through December 2014. The cases were women with healthy pregnant controls. Two hundred eighty enrolled (140 in each arm study). Around one-quarter all (280) primiparae (74.0, 26.4%), majority housewives (201, 71.7%).
