The specificity of 26 monoclonal antibodies against the CA 125 antigen was investigated in two phases ISOBM TD-1 workshop. binding studied using immunoextracted by specific immobilized on various solid phases, or surface human cell lines. Immunometric assays all possible antibody combinations were used to study topography sites antigen. We conclude that carries only major antigenic domains, which classifies as OC125-like (group A) M11-like B). One antibody, OV 197, showed related some...

We evaluated the immunohistological (IH) characteristics of 22 different antibodies that were submitted for study in frame TD-1 ISOBM Workshop on monoclonal against CA125. Information relative affinities and epitope similarities was obtained from a parallel immunochemical study. Antibodies tested at concentrations 10 1 micrograms/ml frozen paraffin sections. Paraffin sections stained according to streptavidin-biotin complex protocol, two-step immunoperoxidase technique. Aminoethylcarbazole...

AbstractBackground: Although the prognosis for malignant gliomas is normally dismal, it's not infrequent in neurooncologist's experience to find cases with unusually prolonged survival. In order understand what factors influence survival of high grade glioma patients, a cohort 196 (III-IV) patients was investigated possible association between i) and age at diagnosis; ii) micronuclei tumor tissue; iii) gender; iv) tissue diagnosis. Methods: Survival analysis performed by Cox' proportional...

The relationship between immune-nutritional status and tumor growth; biological aggressiveness survival, is still debated. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the prognostic performance of different inflammatory markers in patients who underwent surgery for biliary tract cancer (BTC). role following were investigated: Glasgow Prognostic Score (GPS), modified (mGPS), Index (PI), Neutrophil Lymphocyte ratio (NLR), Platelet (PLR), Monocyte (LMR), Nutritional (PNI). A total 282 undergoing...

Sixty patients of both sexes with biopsy‐proven chronic hepatitis C were randomized to receive lymphoblastoid interferon 3 MU or 6 three times weekly for months. A follow‐up period months at the end therapy was scheduled. Thirty‐two (53.3%) normalized alanine aminotransferase therapy. Of these, 17 received (56.7%) and 15 (50%) MU. Eighteen 32 (56.2%) relapsed in after treatment. No significant difference relapse rate observed between two groups. The overall percentage non‐responder 36.6%....

The aim of this paper is to review the different possibilities performing biopsies on prostate and discuss indications, complications instruments be used. Comments are then made results an interactive discussion, mainly focussing when a biopsy should performed by whom, urologist or radiologist. Authors suggest 2 algorithms which can useful in clinical practice decide whether not perform biopsy.
