Human papillomaviruses (HPV) are associated with a subset of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), particularly HPV16. This study analyzed the presence genotype high risk HPVs, viral DNA load transcription E6/E7 mRNAs, in 231 consecutive HNSCC. Twelve out 30 HPV16 DNA-positive tumors displayed mRNAs levels were localized oropharyngeal region. While HPV-free non-transcriptionally active HPV-related patients showed similar 5-years survival rates, expression was better prognosis....
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) act at the posttranscriptional level to control gene expression in virtually every biological process, including oncogenesis. Here, we report identification of a set miRNAs that are differentially regulated childhood adrenocortical tumors (ACT), miR-99a and miR-100. Functional analysis these ACT cell lines showed they coordinately regulate insulin-like growth factor-mammalian target rapamycin (mTOR)-raptor signaling pathway through binding sites their 3'-untranslated...
Abstract HER2-positive breast cancer has long proven to be a clinically distinct class of cancers for which several targeted therapies are now available. However, resistance the treatment associated with specific gene expressions or mutations been observed, revealing underlying diversity these cancers. Therefore, understanding full extent disease heterogeneity still remains challenging. Here we carry out an in-depth genomic characterization 64 tumour genomes that exhibit four subgroups,...
Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is associated with poor survival. To identify prognostic diagnostic markers therapeutic targets, we studied ANO1, a recently identified calcium-activated chloride channel (CaCC). High-resolution genomic transcriptomic microarray analysis functional studies using HNSCC line CaCC inhibitors. Amplification overexpression of genes within the 11q13 amplicon are propensity for future distance metastasis HPV-negative HNSCC. ANO1 was selected based on...

Abstract Claudin-low breast cancers are aggressive tumors defined by the low expression of key components cellular junctions, associated with mesenchymal and stemness features. Although they generally considered as most primitive malignancies, their histogenesis remains elusive. Here we show that this molecular subtype exhibits a significant diversity, comprising three main subgroups emerge from unique evolutionary processes. Genetic, gene methylation analyses reveal two relate,...

Importance
Breast cancer (BC) diagnosis and treatment expose patients to a 5-fold higher risk of depression compared with the general population, an estimated prevalence 10% 25%. A depressive episode in BC has implications for tolerance adherence treatment, impairing quality life reducing expectancy.
Objective
To identify characterize distinct longitudinal patterns symptoms from 3 years after treatment.
Design, Settings, Participants
The CANTO-DEePRESS (Deeper...
SUMMARY (1) The large fluctuations in the proximate composition of muscle, liver, gonad and whole body various stages adult phase life cycle anadromous sea lamprey have been related to feeding, migration reproduction animal. (2) Lipid levels were equivalent only 1.3% animal's wet weight at end 10-month non-trophic period which follows initiation metamorphosis. (3) relative amount lipid rose by approximately eight times during subsequent freshwater marine parasitic phase, before subsequently...
Abstract PD-1/PD-L1 blockade has so far shown limited survival benefit for high-grade ovarian carcinomas. By using paired samples from the NeoPembrOv randomized phase II trial (NCT03275506), which primary outcomes are published, and by combining RNA-seq multiplexed immunofluorescence staining, we explore impact of NeoAdjuvant ChemoTherapy (NACT) ± Pembrolizumab (P) on tumor environment, identify parameters that correlated with response to immunotherapy as a pre-planned exploratory analysis....
Radiotherapy for head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) is associated with a substantial morbidity inconsistent efficacy. Human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive status recognized as marker of increased radiosensitivity. Our goal was to identify molecular markers benefit radiotherapy in patients HPV-negative disease. Gene expression profiles from public repositories were downloaded data mining. Training sets included 421 HNSCC tumors The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) 32 lines available...
Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a major cause of cancer-associated morbidity and mortality may develop from oral premalignant lesions (OPL). An improved molecular classification OPL help refining prevention strategies. We identified two main gene-expression subtypes, named immunological classical, in 86 (discovery dataset). A gene expression-based score was then developed to classify samples three independent datasets, including 17 (GSE30784),13 (GSE10174) 15 (GSE85195) OPLs, into...
Introduction Rice ( Oryza sativa ) is a staple food worldwide, but its production under constant pressure from both abiotic and biotic stresses, resulting in high use of agrochemicals. The plant microbiome harbours microorganisms that can benefit health provide alternatives to the composition microbiomes depends on many factors (soil composition, age, health) considered primary driver future health. To identify protect against disease, we hypothesised asymptomatic rice plants fields pathogen...
Plant root systems play a major role in anchoring and water nutrient uptake from the soil. The cone angle is an important parameter of system architecture because, combined with depth, it helps to determine volume soil explored by plant. Two genes, DRO1 SOR1, several QTLs for have been discovered last 5 years. To find other linked angle, genome-wide association mapping study was conducted on two panels 162 indica 169 japonica rice accessions genotyped sets SNP markers...
Rice Bacterial Leaf Blight (BLB) is caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. (Xoo) which injects Transcription Activator-Like Effectors (TALEs) into the host cell to modulate expression of target disease susceptibility genes. Xoo major-virulence TALEs universally genes SWEET sugar transporter family. TALE-unresponsive alleles OsSWEET have been identified in rice germplasm or created genome editing and confer resistance BLB. In recent years BLB has become one major biotic constraints cultivation...
