Despite unprecedented benefit from immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in patients with mismatch repair deficient (dMMR)/microsatellite instability high (MSI-H) advanced gastrointestinal cancers, a relevant proportion of shows primary resistance or short-term disease control. Since malignant effusions represent an immune-suppressed niche, we investigated whether peritoneal involvement without ascites is poor prognostic factor dMMR/MSI-H metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) and gastric (mGC)...
This study performed a comprehensive molecular characterization of microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H)/mismatch repair-deficient (dMMR) gastrointestinal (GI) tumors to elucidate predictors response PD-1 blockade.Forty-five patients with MSI-H/dMMR GI tumors, including gastric cancer, colorectal cholangiocarcinoma, small intestine pancreatic and duodenal receiving blockade were analyzed. We conducted the genomic profiling by whole-exome sequencing or targeted next-generation sequencing....
Abstract Purpose: Transcriptomic profiling was performed for microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H)/mismatch repair-deficient (dMMR) gastrointestinal tumors to determine the predictors of response PD-1 blockade. Experimental Design: Thirty-six patients with MSI-H/dMMR tumors, including gastric cancer, colorectal cholangiocarcinoma, small intestine and pancreatic being treated blockade were analyzed. We conducted transcriptomic analysis using RNA sequencing data, consensus molecular subtypes...
Abstract Background KRAS is one of the most frequently mutated oncogenes in colorectal cancer (CRC). Recently, a novel therapy targeting G12C mutation has demonstrated promising activities for corresponding advanced solid tumors, including metastatic CRC (mCRC). However, prognostic impact remains unclear patients with mCRC. Materials and Methods We retrospectively reviewed medical records mCRC who received first-line chemotherapy between January 2005 December 2017 at four large oncology...
Spontaneous regression (SR) of many malignant tumors has been well documented, with an approximate incidence one per 60,000–100,000 cancer patients. However, SR colorectal (CRC) is very rare, accounting for less than 2% such cases. We report a case transverse colon in 80-year-old man undergoing outpatient follow-up after surgical treatment early gastric cancer. Colonoscopy (CS) revealed Borrmann type II tumor the measuring 30 × mm. Because patient underwent anticoagulant therapy, we did not...
Abstract Background Surgical site infection ( SSI ) is a common morbidity in patients undergoing colorectal surgery, and the focus of previous studies has primarily been on incisional . Most reports thus far have focused open surgery rather than laparoscopic (Lap CR ). Therefore, aim present study was to identify risk factors for elective Lap Methods This retrospective conducted evaluate occurrence From January 2008 June 2018, 1825 consecutive with preoperative diagnosis cancer who underwent...
Abstract Aim Although rectal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are considered to be rare low‐grade malignancies when lymph node metastasis (LNM) is present, their degree of malignancy comparable that colorectal cancer (CRC). However, it remains unclear as which patients require radical dissection. The aim this study was elucidate the risk factors for LNM and develop a risk‐scoring system help determine appropriate therapeutic approaches. Methods In study, we examined 103 with NETs who underwent...
The two key concerns in treating locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) are as follows: (i) prolonging survival by reducing distant metastases and (ii) maintaining anorectal function quality of life surviving patients safely avoiding resection. To resolve these issues, recent years, total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT), a preoperative combination chemoradiotherapy or short-course radiotherapy (SCRT) systemic chemotherapy, has been developed multidisciplinary treatment LARC. There have no...
The C-TASK-FORCE phase I/II and Danish randomized II trials reported the promising efficacy of trifluridine/tipiracil (TAS102) plus bevacizumab (BEV) in patients with chemorefractory metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). However, there had been no direct comparative III trial to compare between TAS102 BEV standard therapy either or regorafenib monotherapy. We retrospectively reviewed medical records mCRC who received BEV, monotherapy, monotherapy after chemotherapies during 2013-2019.Patients...
TPS276 Background: Non-operative management (NOM) may enable more patients (pts) with a complete clinical response (cCR) or near-complete (nCR) after total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) to avoid subsequent radical surgery, possibly maintaining the anorectal function and quality of life (QoL). The PRODIGE-23 trial demonstrated that triplet regimen before chemoradiotherapy (CRT) significantly improved outcomes in comparison CRT. However, there have been no...
Background: The survival benefits of regorafenib (REG) and trifluridine/tipiracil hydrochloride (TFTD) have been demonstrated in chemorefractory patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). However, the effects crossover administration REG TFTD on patient remain unclear. present study evaluated association between exposure to overall (OS) mCRC using data from REGOTAS study. Patients Methods: We analyzed registered study, which retrospectively compared efficacy safety use or as...
71 Background: Total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) has dramatically shifted the treatment paradigm for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC), prolonging survival with high rates of pathologic complete response (pCR) and introducing opportunities nonoperative management (NOM). However, there is a need robust predictive biomarkers TNT efficacy, local regrowth in NOM, overall prognosis. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) minimally invasive biomarker used to detect molecular residual disease (MRD)...
Numerous novel biologics are emerging for refractory ulcerative colitis (UC), but rising medical costs a serious problem. Sulfasalazine (SASP) is an inexpensive drug. Although the effectiveness of 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) and SASP UC equivalent, sometimes appears effective in daily clinical practice. has dose-dependent side effects there considerable amount cases high-dose intolerance SASP. To solve this problem, we have provided 'half therapy' patients with UC, where 5-ASA administered...
