An FE model of the solution heat treatment, forming and in-die quenching (HFQ) process was developed. Good correlation with a deviation less than 5% achieved between thickness distribution simulated experimentally formed parts, verifying model. Subsequently, able to provide more detailed understanding HFQ process, used study effects temperature speed on part. It found that higher is beneficial for forming, as it led thinning improved homogeneity.
This paper discussed the friction coefficient evolution of a TiN coated contact during sliding wear. A hard coating was prepared on bearing steel (GCr15) substrate by applying composite method cathode arc and magnetron sputtering. The microstructure, microhardness, microscratch tribological behaviour this were studied to obtain relationship between other properties, meanwhile full curve with different stages wear process shown. It found that, wear, as two interactive responses from...
Dissimilar aluminium alloy-tailor weld blanks (DA-TWB) are increasingly being used in transportation industries due to their significant benefit reinforcing vehicle structures as well improving lightweight performance. Hot stamping technologies enabling the manufacture of pressings from DA-TWB have yet be developed and widely implemented. In present research, a unified automated production system was integrate functions heating, blank transfer, forming post-form heat treatment, automatically...
Innovative digitally enhanced technologies are revolutionising the manufacturing systems, including metal forming sector, at an unprecedented speed and scale. By utilising voluminous metadata collected through sensing networks experimentally verified simulations during daily production academic activities, profound insights can be provided to facilitate ongoing efforts on understanding processes from perspective of data. Data science in has emerged as interdisciplinary research challenge...
In this paper, the springback of aluminium alloy AA5754 under hot stamping conditions was characterised stretch and pure bending conditions. It found that elevated temperature beneficial for reduction, particularly when using dies. Using cold dies, flange angle decreased by 9.7 % blank increased from 20 to 450 °C, compared 44.1 reduction dies were used. Various other forming also tested, results which used verify finite element (FE) simulations processes in order consolidate knowledge...
Abstract Complex thin-walled titanium alloy components play a key role in the aircraft, aerospace and marine industries, offering advantages of reduced weight increased thermal resistance. The geometrical complexity, dimensional accuracy in-service properties are essential to fulfill high-performance standards required new transportation systems, which brings challenges forming technologies. Traditional processes, such as superplastic or hot pressing, cannot meet all demands modern...
Abstract Sustainability is a key factor in an automotive OEMs’ business strategy. Vehicle electrification particular has received increased attention, and major manufacturers have already undertaken significant investments this area. However, order to fully confront the sustainability challenge industry, lightweight design additional alternative propulsion technologies also required. weight closely correlated with fuel consumption range for internal combustion electrified vehicles,...
The special chemistry of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF)-solvated Li+ [Li(DMF)x]+ migration results in polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)-based solid polymer electrolytes exhibiting high ionic conductivities. Incorporating ceramic fillers into PVDF can further enhance the However, there is limited understanding desolvation process during its transport through fillers. Herein, we reveal that this exhibits a large energy barrier hinders transport. introduction poly(methylhydrosiloxane) (PMHS) weaken...
During hot stamping of titanium alloys, insufficient forming temperatures result in limited material formability, whereas approaching the β phase transus also reduced formability due to transformation, grain coarsening and oxidation during long-time heating. To solve this problem, Fast light Alloys Stamping Technology (FAST) is proposed paper, where fast heating employed. Effects parameters on post-form strength were studied by tensile tests. Forming a wing stiffener was performed validate...
