Background and Aims Sirtuin 2 (SIRT2), an NAD + ‐dependent deacetylase, is involved in various cellular processes regulating metabolic homeostasis inflammatory responses; however, its role hepatic steatosis related disorders unknown. Approach Results Integrating the published genomic data on NAFLD samples from humans rodents available Gene Expression Omnibus, we found that SIRT2 was significantly down‐regulated livers patients with advanced high‐fat diet (HFD)–induced mice. This study...

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is an independent risk factor for Alzheimer's disease (AD). Exendin-4 (Ex-4), a widely used glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist drug in the treatment of T2D, has been demonstrated therapeutic effects on diabetic encephalopathy (DE). Especially, Ex-4 ameliorates tau hyperphosphorylation and cognitive impairment DE. And these crucial alterations are also important bridge between T2D AD. However, its unique mechanism unclear. The db/db mice, high-fat-diet (HFD) /...

Differently expressed circular RNAs (circRNAs) have been reported to play a considerable role in tumor behavior; however, the expression profile and biological function of circRNAs papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) remains unknown. Thus, study was aimed characterize circRNA comprehensively understand behavior PTC.We investigated using microarray three pairs PTC adjacent normal tissues. Quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) used validate eight...

Background: Serum ferritin (SF) has been correlated with one or more metabolic syndrome features associated an increased risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD). This study explored the associations between SF and CVD factors among different body size phenotypes that were based on status mass index (BMI) categories. Methods: A cross-sectional was performed using a cohort of 7,549 Chinese adults from China Health Nutrition Survey. Participants did not exhibit acute inflammation, underweight...

Dissection of the lymph nodes posterior to right recurrent laryngeal nerve (LN-prRLNs) in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) remains controversial. This study aimed determine capability ultrasonography (US)-based radiomics for presurgical prediction metastasis LN-prRLNs PTC.Patients were retrospectively enrolled and pathologically confirmed as LN-prRLN with PTC after surgery. Radiomic analysis based on preoperative US images manual segmentation targets was used develop a model. features described...

The clinical management of patients with thyroid nodules that are biopsied by fine-needle aspiration cytology and yield indeterminate results remains unsettled. BRAF V600E mutation has dubious diagnostic value due to its low sensitivity. Novel strategies urgently needed distinguish malignancies from nodules. This prospective study included 504 diagnosed ultrasonography 468 patients, was performed under ultrasound guidance. Cytology molecular analysis, including V600E, RET/PTC1 RET/PTC3, were...

Ectopic adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) syndrome caused by paraganglioma is extremely rare. It usually accompanied high or normal plasma ACTH level. Here we described a male who presented with ectopic ACTH-producing and low Immunohistochemistry immunofluorescence confirmed production in focal cells. This unusual case expanded the spectrum of ACTH-dependent Cushing's revealed potential mechanism this unique clinical phenotype. Besides, literature concerning reviewed.

In this study, we described a male who presented with delayed-onset adrenal hypoplasia congenita (AHC) and mild hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (HHG) without relevant family history. A novel mutation in the DAX1 (dosage-sensitive sex reversal, congenital critical region on X chromosome, gene 1) was shown to cause X-linked AHC HHG. Genetic analysis revealed nonsense mutation, c.154G > T (p.Glu52Term), gene. Molecular testing demonstrated that milder phenotype caused by due expression of...
