In 1953 Medawar pointed out that survival of the genetically disparate (allogeneic) mammalian conceptus contradicts laws tissue transplantation. Rapid T cell–induced rejection all allogeneic concepti occurred when pregnant mice were treated with a pharmacologic inhibitor indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO), tryptophan-catabolizing enzyme expressed by trophoblasts and macrophages. Thus, catabolizing tryptophan, suppresses cell activity defends itself against rejection.

Currently, there are no approved specific antiviral agents for novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In this study, 10 severe patients confirmed by real-time viral RNA test were enrolled prospectively. One dose of 200 mL convalescent plasma (CP) derived from recently recovered donors with the neutralizing antibody titers above 1:640 was transfused to as an addition maximal supportive care and agents. The primary endpoint safety CP transfusion. second endpoints improvement clinical...

Severe Community Acquired Pneumonia (SCAP) challenges public health globally. Considerable improvements in molecular pathogen testing emerged the last few years. Our prospective study combinedly used traditional culture, antigen tests, PCR and mNGS SCAP identification with clinical outcomes. From June 2018 to December 2019, we conducted a multi-centre 17 hospitals of patients within 48 hours emergency room stay or hospitalization China. All data were uploaded into an online database.
