We report on a new measurement of the neutron $\ensuremath{\beta}$-asymmetry parameter $A$ with instrument Perkeo II. The main enhancements are high polarization $P=99.7(1)%$ from novel arrangement supermirror polarizers and reduced background improvements in beam line shielding. leading corrections were thus by factor 4, pushing them below level statistical error resulting significant reduction systematic uncertainty compared to our previous experiments. derive...

In future electricity systems, not only generation but also frequency stabilization must be provided by low-carbon technologies. Battery systems are a promising solution to fill this gap. However, uncertainties regarding their revenue potential may hinder investments. Therefore, we apply the agent-based market model AMIRIS simulate day-ahead and an automatic restoration reserves market. Demonstrating setup, chose scenario with high shares of renewable energies. First, back-test our historic...

The ongoing deployment of renewable energy sources (RES) calls for an enhanced integration RES into markets, accompanied by a new set regulations. In Germany, instance, the feed-in tariff legislation renewables has been successively replaced first optional and then obligatory marketing on competitive wholesale markets. This paper introduces agent-based model that allows studying impact changing policy instruments economic performance operators marketers. structure, its components, linkages...

A new measurement of the neutrino asymmetry parameter B in neutron decay, angular correlation between spin and antineutrino momentum, is presented. The result, B=0.9802(50), confirms earlier measurements but features considerably smaller corrections. It agrees with standard model expectation permits updated tests on "new physics" decay.

Increasing the market and system integration of renewable energy sources (RES) is regarded as key to reducing costs RES support transforming electricity system. In several EU countries, feed-in premium schemes have been implemented better align production with prices enhance efficiency marketing by increasing direct participation producers in markets. This paper examines lessons learned from German scheme, which was introduced Renewable Energy Sources Act 2012 an optional alternative...

A reliable and cost-effective electricity system transition requires both the identification of optimal target states definition political regulatory frameworks that enable these to be achieved. Fundamental optimization models are frequently used for determination cost-optimal configurations. They represent a normative approach typically assume markets with perfect competition.
