Cardiac output measured by thermodilution in 25 patients within 24 hours of acute myocardial infarction was compared with cardiac Doppler echocardiography (24 patients) and electrical bioimpedance (25 patients). The mean (range) outputs (4.03 (2.2-6.0) 1/min) (3.79 (1.1-6.2) were similar to the value (3.95 (2.1-6.2) 1/min). Both non-invasive techniques agreed closely most patients. None less, three results each method disagreed more than 1 1/min. reproducible accurate infarction. time...

Approximately 5-10% of patients with hypertension have secondary hypertension. We describe a case from bilateral renal artery stenosis (RAS): "Pickering syndrome." This is to RAS which provides an opportunity review specific focus on RAS, in terms when consider work up, causes hypertension, diagnostic testing, and treatment.

Intra-articular fractures of the calcaneus are a common injury to hindfoot following high-energy trauma lower extremity. Treatment these has evolved. Due concern wound complications associated with extensile open treatment, smaller incision techniques, such as sinus tarsi approach, increasing in popularity. A number fixation strategies utilized this and it is unknown which most accurately restores radiographic alignment. The purpose study was compare postoperative outcomes plate screw...

Three deaths from dissection of the aorta in a series 157 adult women with Turner9s syndrome are reported. These greatly excess numbers expected. None three patients had coarctation aorta. One aortic regurgitation but there was no reason to believe that other two been subjected unusual haemodynamic stresses. Cystic medial necrosis described on whom necropsies were carried out. It is concluded probably increased risk even absence any abnormality and valve. Previously reported cases discussed.

The lymphatic system plays important roles in protein and solute transport as well the immune system. Its functionality is vital to proper homeostasis fluid balance. Lymph may be propelled by intrinsic (active) vessel pumping or passive compression from external tissue movement. With regard former, nitric oxide (NO) known play an role modulating contraction vasodilation. Lymphatic endothelial cells (LECs) are sensitive shear, increases flow have been shown cause enhanced production of NO...
