Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is highly abundant in the brain and involved various physiological processes related to food intake anxiety, as well human diseases such obesity cancer. However, molecular details of interactions between NPY its receptors are poorly understood. Here, we report a cryo-electron microscopy structure NPY-bound neuropeptide Y1 receptor (Y1R) complex with Gi1 protein. The C-terminal segment forming extended conformation binds deep into Y1R transmembrane core, where amidated...
Despite the tireless efforts of many researchers in lymphatic research, indocyanine green (ICG) solution conditions suitable for circulation tests have not been perfectly established yet. We aimed to investigate optimal vivo ICG avoid photobleaching and quenching effects, which may affect accuracy evaluation. After fluorescence intensity (or intensity) was assessed under different vitro conditions, image quality brachial lymph nodes (LNs) collecting vessels (LVs) eight rats investigated. The...
Secondary lymphedema is a severe complication of cancer treatment, but there no effective curative method yet. Lymph node dissection and radiation therapy for treatment may lead to secondary lymphedema, which chronic disease induced by malfunction lymphatic flow. The channel sheet (LCS) an artificial micro-fluidic structure that was fabricated with polydimethylsiloxane maintain flow induce lymphangiogenesis. has two-dimensional multichannels increase the probability lymphangiogenesis allow...
Background: Breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL) reduces the quality of life patients and limits their activities daily living. Even though resistance exercises seemed to be safe in BCRL patients, it was still controversial that improve lymphedema. Therefore, we sought evaluate effects forearm-targeted on using segmental bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). Methods: This study a pilot-controlled randomized trial, with divided into intervention control group. Both groups received 30 min...
Abstract Background The effects of inspiratory muscle training (IMT) with pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) on patients non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) receiving radiotherapy (RT) have not previously been reported. This pilot study aimed to determine the effectiveness IMT PR respiratory muscles and exercise capacity NSCLC RT. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 20 who underwent RT for NSCLC. included IMT, stretching, strengthening, aerobic exercises three times a week 4 weeks concurrent...
In lymphedema, lymphatic fluid accumulates in the interstitial space, and localized swelling appears. Lymphovenous anastomosis (LVA) is most widely used surgery to rebuild a damaged system; however, assessing outcome of LVA involves performing volume measurements, which provides limited information on body composition changes. Therefore, we analyzed bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) parameters that can reflect status lymphedema patients who underwent LVA. We retrospectively reviewed...
Cancer-related lymphedema (LE) is often caused by radiotherapy and surgery such as lymph node dissection (LND). Previous studies have reported that exercise beneficial to relieve LE, but the changes in lymphatic system following are still unclear. This study aimed examine drainage pathways over period effects of rats with LE. Twelve were randomly allocated into control groups (EG CG; n = 6 each). To obtain inguinal popliteal LND followed 20 Gy irradiation was performed. Treadmill 30...
Near-infrared fluorescence indocyanine green lymphangiography, a primary modality for detecting lymphedema, which is disease due to lymphatic obstruction, enables real-time observations of lymphatics and reveals not only the spatial distribution drainage (static analysis) but also information on contraction (dynamic analysis). We have produced total obstruction in upper limbs 18 Sprague-Dawley rats through dissection proximal (brachial axillary) lymph nodes 20-Gy radiation (dissection limbs)....
A systematically designed and synthesized ribitol phosphate (RboP) oligomer using a series of building blocks, which make up the wall teichoic acid (WTA) S. aureus, is presented. Based on use solution-phase phosphodiester synthesis, library tetramers, decorated with d-alanine N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc), were generated. The RboP tetramers showed increased cytokine levels in mice subcutaneous air pouch model.
Vascularized lymph node transfer (VLNT) is an advanced surgical approach for secondary lymphedema (SLE) treatment, but tissue fibrosis around the flap (VLNF) inhibiting lymphangiogenesis biggest challenge undermining its therapeutic efficacy. This study explored effects of periodic hyaluronidase (HLD) injection in reducing and promoting 52 Sprague-Dawley rats with a VLNF over 13 weeks. The results demonstrated that HLD administration significantly enhanced swelling reduction, lymphatic...
In lymphedema, the accumulation of subcutaneous interstitial fluid is most characteristic feature. Bioimpedance analysis (BIA) a promising technique to measure amount body components using noninvasive method. this study, we determined clinical significance BIA parameters in upper limb lymphedema with surgical treatment such as lymphovenous anastomosis or vascularized lymph node transfer.
Background Constructing a reliable animal model for preclinical treatment of secondary lymphedema is challenging because the anatomical characteristics near lymph nodes are understudied. Therefore, this study examined detailed relationship between axillary node flaps (ALNFs) and brachial (BLNFs) in forelimb Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. Materials methods Ten male rats, weighing 250–300 g, were used. The ALNFs BLNFs on either side rat forelimbs dissected. two (LNFs) immediately harvested to...
