Cancer is a major public health concern in both developed and developing countries. Several plant-derived anti-cancer agents including taxol, vinblastine, vincristine, the campothecin derivatives, topotecan, irinotecan etoposide are clinical use all over world. Other promising include flavopiridol, roscovitine, combretastatin A-4, betulinic acid silvestrol. From this list one can well imagine predominance of polyphenols, flavonoids their synthetic analogs treatment ovarian, breast, cervical,...

An entomopathogenic fungus, Cordyceps sp. has been known to have numerous pharmacological and therapeutic implications, especially, in terms of human health making it a suitable candidate for ethno-pharmacological use. Main constituent the extract derived from this fungus comprises novel bio-metabolite called as Cordycepin (3'deoxyadenosine) which very potent anti-cancer, anti-oxidant anti-inflammatory activities. The current review discusses about broad spectrum potential including...

The present study was carried out to investigate the impact of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on growth three different crop species, wheat (Triticum aestivum, var. UP2338), cowpea (Vigna sinensis, Pusa Komal), and Brassica (Brassica juncea, Jai Kisan), along with their rhizospheric bacterial diversity. Three concentrations (0, 50 75 ppm) AgNPs were applied through foliar spray. After harvesting, shoot root parameters compared, it observed that relatively unaffected by all AgNP treatments....

Relevant for various areas of human genetics, Y-chromosomal short tandem repeats (Y-STRs) are commonly used testing close paternal relationships among individuals and populations, male lineage identification. However, even the widely 17-loci Yfiler set cannot resolve populations completely. Here, 52 centers generated quality-controlled data 13 rapidly mutating (RM) Y-STRs in 14,644 related unrelated males from 111 worldwide populations. Strikingly, >99% 12,272 were completely individualized....

Summary Higher lipid biosynthesis and accumulation are important to achieve economic viability of biofuel production via microalgae. To enhance content, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was genetically engineered with a key enzyme diacylglycerol acyltransferase ( Bn DGAT 2 ) from Brassica napus, responsible for neutral biosynthesis. The transformed colonies harbouring aph7 gene, screened on hygromycin‐supplemented medium, achieved transformation frequency ~120 ± 10 colonies/1 × 6 cells. Transgene...
